Theater of ampheng is a full fledged virtual  orchestral spectacle, under the influenza of free jazz and a compositional approach that mimics ‘automatic writing’ 
 
an interloping range of ‘conductors’ take random turns to disorient their cluster of ‘musicians’ confounding movements, acoustics and moments with a non-linear, devolving score. 

‘Traditional’  sounds of horns, keys, strings, wooded, and metallic instruments are mangled  by frequency organisms via 'fourth world  computer medicine programs.'’

Theatre of Ampheng is ideal  for bodies of psychoactive films from fortean and oneiric worlds, filled with doppelgängers and alchemists, sentient city bogs, folk horror, baroque sci-fi sex  and surreal dinner scenes.

77 years into the future 

Medical science-tech has extended the life expectancy of the current Gen Alpha by 15-20  years. A.I multi-sensory immersion therapies and body mods, ‘sentient’ nano-tattoos, identity/ideology altering surgeries and psychosomatic medicine  has revolutionised humanity’s psychic landscape  but the body, by its very nature and core, tends toward entropy.

Enter CYTOXCIS: a sprawling, underground medical metropolis engaged in psycho-body-spiritual transcendence programs for those whose lives are on the brink of total collapse, disoriented and deteriorated by the perilous realities of this mortal coil, of a world and her bodies trapped in constant hyper socio-politico-spiritual crises, of flesh paying the price of obsessions. 

CYTOXCIS  is memory mapping of dystopian/utopian rave and cross cultural histories , where bodies in induced comatose are entered' into guided perpetual interior flow states: activated by fringe audio/video/lighting medicine,  cyber\ primeval dance floor shamanism, genre -DNA data-bending, and mind-altering nanotech creatures moving in blood/nerve/synapse lines. 


Those  on the brink of mortal death are tuned via frequencies/vibrations of [post-future media into the Spiritual collective foundations and energia built upon generations that came before. From generation-Z's psycho-spiritual-identity reformations and acceleration programs, to the  roots of perennial wisdom that informed the earliest of religions.

In the butoh/bardo gardens of Hagarah, at the appointed star junction of year 2213, twelve advanced lifeforms are called from their respective ' 'mountains’’ to present their ‘movement and frequency rituals’ to the survivors on earth.

It is believed that Spirit representatives from a vast array of futuristic and historical f pantheons would descend from 'The third Heaven’ to 'become present in order to witness, extract, elevate, alchemize and ultimately eat the winds and ‘shapes of energia’, generated by the ritual movements and frequencies of the 12.

Once wholly consumed (in one sitting, over the span of an hour), the faithful (by virtue of their belief and interconnectedness with the pantheons) will in turn feast upon the winds and shapes to nourish and prepare their souls for the eternal dance.

Through surreal video game simulations and intermedia formulas of the  post-internet reality, gen Alpha cyber-neuronauts tap into the mystery egregore of  QILOPTH  from the cytoxcian cycle. 

A team of six plays the game, each covering two dimensions for a total ov 12 levels or situations.
 
The trajectories involve surveys, construction, mining ov deep space phenomena and  alchemical material, extraterrestrial contact, combat, and  invocation, and other adjacent forms of mutagenesis  

The goal is to create new foreign bodies or foreign realities in which each player can reign for various amounts ov time until they are sent forth through other wormholes (constructed by the   QILOPTH ) 

Players accumulate psychic mana that attune their individual psyches to                                                                timeless archetypal continuums as detailed in Liber Novus 

This is the transcendental process that began as experimental treatment in  the far future medical of cytotoxics and will end in yet to be known powers and forms.

the men in the group were found pressed up agaInst the northern windows,  gasping on glass, eyes dilated, too perplexed to remove their ballroom masks, 

they were  astonished by the sudden disappearance of the people from the vineyard, out there in the dark. This was day six after the maiden seance. 

elsewhere in the ever shifting manor, the women walked about like spiders, corsets taut and austere, heads moving like praying mantis. They passed through door frames marked by charcoal. Glyphs and sigils, numbers, rudimentary faces as if drawn by children. 

There were doors that led to balconies overlooking the other frontier. It’s here that the women noticed the graves, that they were all opened and emptied.

In my mind we were in a tower. The woman kept reminding us we were in a starved totem. Thin and long, the way our bodies looked to each other (though not in our own eyes)

The sound of noise ebbed and flowed. Static, pops, hisses, growls, guttural, menacing, scraping. 

Sometimes we heard  crying or manic birds, distorted voices speaking unknown languages. When the sounds grew further away , that meant  the dissolutions were getting nearer. I could feel my body thinning with such sounds. Sometimes it felt like it was bloating. 

There were periods when, I think, we were deaf to external sounds. Only the crackling and droning trapped in our heads remained.

Many patients were trying to keep the fires in the lift shafts burning, so that they could breathe but the supply of black flowers were dwindling 

We were getting stressed with all the clanging, drilling, banging, and ritual fires and drums coming from far beneath us. What is being erected or sacrificed we don’t know.  I asked cirqu if this was a rescue mission but it was the woman who replied cryptically.

“To put them to sleep. The diverging ones. It's the only way they can wake up again in CYTOXCIS. We have no means to carry bodies back. ” 

We also don’t know if there’s running water or  electricity.

A feverish mania was taking over 

Stairwells that multiply or disappear, never at the same place. Doorways lead to other passages and corridors and more doorways, arches,  hewn out gaps in the walls we could walk through,  elevator shafts with no lifts. 40 storey drops , vertical tunnels. No light.

We ascend and descend meaninglessly  amidst the noise, the sheer static, the blocks of post-ritual noise,  concrete collapsing in the far distance, destruction in many directions 

very far away

Yet

Somehow ‘localised,’ somehow trapped in this  black mausoleum tower. Cirque, at one point philosophised that the building we were in is archetypal. “Of all the buildings across space and time, caught in the heart of some  crisis or war or disaster, centralised Into a totemic singularity here in this city.  


I’m starting to believe there is something  purgatorial here, a samsara of brick and mortar.
