A LIFE DRIVE an original by Yvalain

For more than 15 years I've been working on a dozen of short classical pieces. I spent incalculable number of hours to write the notes of each instrument which plays in that orchestra. It all started with my acoustic guitars on a 4 track analog recorder. Once the music was written on musical notation I desperately needed a good software to make that music sounds as realistic as possible. I have it now... So I plan to publish my short classical pieces little by little, hoping you'll find some interest in these compositions. 

Some purists might say that the only real music was the one I played originally on my acoustic guitar. But in fact the real music was the one which was born in my mind and it really sounded much more like this one that we can hear now than my nice but rustic acoustic version (that I'll publish too one of these days). 

No samples and no loops were used in there.

SILENTNIGHT

Here is my cover of "I Will Wait for You", the English version of "Je ne pourrai jamais vivre sans toi", the song from the French musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964 – music by Michel Legrand, original lyrics by Jacques Demy). It was performed in the film by Catherine Deneuve, whose voice was dubbed by Danielle Licari. 
The English lyrics of the song were written by Norman Gimbel (version nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song at the 38th Academy Awards held in 1966). 
This song was covered by three artists in 1966 : Connie Francis (album Movie Greats of the 60's), Vikki Carr (album The Way of Today!) and Frank Sinatra (album That's Life). 
I chose as an illustration the painting "The Port of Cherbourg" by Berthe Morisot (1871). 
Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) was a French painter, co-founder and female figurehead of the avant-garde movement known as Impressionism.

I wanted to make a comparison between this music and the original one on a video, but it was prevented by youtube for copyright reasons.
So I only kept my own version and post it in audio only.

This piece of music was originally written for orchestra, in a classic way. Then Anthony Aaron Frank, a californian guitarist, added a superb electric guitar solo on it. This is the new version.

Ce morceau a été à l'origine écrit pour un orchestre symphonique classique. Puis Anthony Aaron Frank, un guitariste californien,  y a rajouté un superbe solo de guitare électrique. C'est cette nouvelle version que vous pouvez entendre.

Hello everyone! 
I started singing in November 2011. I uploaded a few songs to Youtube, all recorded with the digital voice recorder I used to interview people...I was a market research consultant; I conducted research projects in 5 languages; I am now retired. So that's how the whole thing started... Just for fun I could say. But there was also another deeper, more personal, reason for my starting to sing, which I may tell you about one day... 
I have no musical background, I can't read music, I do everything by ear and by feel only; I just love to sing :)
I hope you will enjoy my very varied repertoire: Jazz, Pop, Blues, Rn'B, Folk, Latino, Electronica etc... and my videos which I make myself.
