Sväva, (meaning float in Swedish) is a Boston based quartet with members from Sweden, France and the United States. The band features alto saxophonist Salim Charvet (FR), pianist Ebba Dankel (SE), bassist Isaac Coyle (CA, USA), and drummer Maliq Wynn (CO, USA). 

They have developed a worldly and enamoring sound, informed by Black American musical traditions with the essence of the European ECM movement. The band formed after performing a set of standards at the legendary Wally's Jazz Cafe in Boston, MA. They felt an innate connection as well as inspiration to continue developing the sound that had begun to unveil itself. They now have been playing together weekly for the past year and are beginning to set a new presence on the modern jazz scene. Sväva applies its singular concept of expanding and exploring on any piece of music, originals, jazz standards or improvised pieces. Members of Sväva have performed and studied individually with a wide array of jazz luminaries such as Dave Leibman, Terri Lynn Carrington, George Garzone, Ralph Peterson, Ben Wendel, Francisco Mela, Ian Froman, John Patitucci, and many others.
