ISO Mix 001

In late April, early May as COVID was ravaging NYC  (before our city blew up with the most inspiriting demonstration of the people power I've ever seen) - I was in a weird place, locked in my house for months with a lot of fear to go outside or see friends as a lifelong Asthmatic I ended up spontaneously putting this house mix together. It was all tracks that spoke to me that were  mellow, deep, sometimes melancholic with but with undertones of hope for the future and a realization that all things are temporary, and change is the only thing that's constant. Music speaks to people in weird ways, and these songs spoke to me in that way. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. Volume 2 on the way soon.

Utopia Circles Vol○1

Isaac Aesili is a Māori musician, DJ, and music producer from Aotearoa, New Zealand, based in Bangkok. DJs such as Bill Brewster, Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Jamz Supernova, and Shy One have supported his music. Isaac is a member of the Lord Echo band playing trumpet and percussion; his horns feature in many collaborations, including ‘Midnight in Peckham’ by Chaos in the CBD (Rhythm Section) and ‘Layer’ by Julien Dyne (Wonderful Noise/BBE). His music styles span soul, deep house, and electronica, mixed with elements of jazz, hip-hop, reggae, Brazilian, Latino, Afro, and Asia-Pacific influences. Isaac is a featured artist on the title track of Chaos in the CBD’s new album, ‘A Deeper Life’. His most recent release consists of a series of four instrumental albums, which include unreleased instrumental versions and selected instrumentals from projects produced between 2009 and 2020, such as Funkommunity, Sorceress, Karlmarx, Latinaotearoa, and his solo material.
