Last weekend, I had the honor of being invited to play at an incredible music and gastronomy festival in the city of Macaé, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was two days filled with music, amazing food, and an incredible vibe with truly special people.

I played on both days, and this set was recorded live on Saturday, right at noon, facing the beach. You can probably imagine the atmosphere of that moment. Over the course of three hours, we went through many moods, starting at 90 bpm and ending at 160 bpm. There was disco, soul, funk, Brazilian music, house — just the way you and I like it.

I always like to make it clear that, since this was a live recording, you’ll obviously hear tracks that I’ve played before here on the channel. My live sets are also the result of my ongoing musical research, which I share weekly with you here. So if you’re a recurring viewer of this channel, someone who enjoys catching the finer details, this note may be useful to you.

I’m truly happy to be invited more and more often to play at major live events. On one hand, it’s fantastic for my career, but on the other, as you can imagine, it reduces the time I have in the studio to prepare and produce 100% new material twice a week. Still, I believe our repertoire as DJs is something alive — it reshapes and presents itself anew depending on the moment and the environment we’re in.
