A true veteran of Madrid's fabled electronic scene, Roberto Gemelín takes the reins for local imprint Trauma Collective's sixth missive. Known for releases since the late '90s on labels as diverse as Minifunk, Nehoma, Warm Up, and his own imprint Brainwaves, he returns with the first vinyl release under the Groof alias in 10 years - the Staca EP.

Whether its the industrial-grade broken beats of opener "Take A Break", or the subterranean snarl of "Command" with its ominous swells underpinned by visceral kicks (perfect for those-heads-down moments) - the A side already showcases the diversity within Gemelín's sonic repertoire. Over on the flip, he continues his onslaught with the functional and hypnotic title track, and ends with the mind game of "Stay Puft", awash in searing synth textures and mechanised rhythms. Finally "Crash!" slams you against the wall, right from the first beat, on this with this vehemently bruising techno workout.

Back in July, 909 RIOT (Leeds-based techno legend) and Isca Nublar (me) were invited to take over Shockwave's Hot Picks show on Techno Connection, and we jumped at the chance....!! 

If you didn't catch it first time round, this is my set from the second hour of that show, which followed an hour of ultra-cool techno from 909 RIOT - I hope you enjoy it as much as I did recording it....!!

For my 3rd Techno Helpline show on Techno Connection, I decided to go for something a bit different - still dark and groovy (especially in the second half), but with a slightly retro vibe... 

Back in the '90s I was obsessed with Jeff Mills' legendary live sets from The Liquid Room in Tokyo (e.g. https://youtu.be/C6gl9ngTHc8) and I have recently been trying to recreate that awesome sound in my sets...this set is my first proper attempt...see what you think...
