Tonio Kroeger was my first book auf Deutsch in college!  And Petroushka, Stop it.

German-born author and Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann wrote "Tonio Kroeger" in 1903, at the age of 28.  The meticulously constructed novella is filled with more or less veiled autobiographical references and deals with the author’s central theme, the internal and external conflict of the artist as eternal outsider. 
This complete audio recording of the entire novella is a first presentation of a new, as of yet unpublished translation by Daniel Isengart.
