Had fun trying something a little different on this sort of Lo-Fi R&P track. Initially I was uncertain about who would fit on such an obscure instrumental. But Austin Sebek from Splendor Tree was adventurous enough to jump right onto this and bring it into a direction that sounds so smooth and natural. And adding that lovely soulful quality that she always brings, Sarah Juers graces this track with her own vocal touches, which are the perfect finishing compliments to the vibe that Austin started. Here's a song about patience. I'm not always good with patience. Even the month-long wait from having finished this song to releasing it was a challenge for me! But I'm learning more and more to slow down. I'm usually thinking far in advance and trying to plan out the future, but God's word reminds us to take things day by day. To trust and depend on God, and be ok with not being in control. I remember doing a study last year, looking at 1 Corinthians 13 - "Love is patient, love is kind..." and realising that God IS love, and therefore everything that's true about love is true about God Himself. He is patient, He is kind. And I started to relate that to the way He loves us as individuals. God is patient with me. This truth really hit me.

I think somewhere deep down I felt that God had big plans for my life, and who I was created to be, and that I wasn't measuring up to that. That somehow I'm lagging behind or not fully walking in all that I was made for, and that God was disappointed or frustrated with me. Maybe you've felt the same way. But I came to realise that's a lie. God is patient with us. God is kind to us. He's ok with things taking a long time. He's ok with us not seeing the complete picture yet. He's ok with mistakes and set backs. And in many ways I think God is more concerned with the process than the finished result. We learn in the process. It's the place we draw close to God and learn to depend on Him. The process is where relationship develops. And so, I'm learning to slow down.
