Ojoo FM w/ Islas (closing at Ojoo 21.07.23)

At our latest stage hosting for Drift we invited Islas for the closing slot. She blew us away with a floor-oriented set crossing genres on the move.

Islas' roots were in the visual art. As she grew, the curiousness to sound grew with her. Starting with sets bringing together ambient, ASMR and spoken word; currently reviving dance floors with energetic and highly percussive gems. As artistic busy bee, Ailsa co-founded the PLANET collective and helped in founding belgian dance label Basic Moves. As person, a down to earth girl whose determination immediately sparkes interests. For our next Hot Series, we’re handing things over to @ilias-vh—Antwerp-based, vinyl-curious, and always dancing just in front of the booth. From furniture to floorplans to floor-fillers, Ilias is a designer in every sense; crafting moments, building spaces, and translating mood into sound. His approach is deeply personal, setting the drift between gritty minimal, dusty 90s house, and hypnotic techno, all stitched together by atmosphere and emotional depth. 

This mix captures a special full-circle moment. While interning as an interior designer at Traum, Ilias helped shape the club’s balcony room—transforming it into a snug and intimate second floor. Months later, he stepped into that very same space behind the decks, playing the closing set right after his close friend and mentor Romy. The result: a raw, elegant ride through four months of digging—trancy textures, minimal pressure, groovy moments—and a heavy lean into the vinyl he’s been collecting. 

His next stop? Opening Klub Dramatik’s Turbine Stage b2b with Jacuzzi. But as always, you'll find him where the energy is best, spinning records, or dancing just off-center with a grin.

His Soft Spot is called 'Detours' and focuses on the journeys he takes away from dance music to get re-inspired, seeking inspiration from different corners of electronic music.
