Long Island Sound has quietly evolved into one of underground electronic music’s most consistent and emotionally resonant duos. Built on over a decade of friendship and creative collaboration, their widescreen take on dance music has been supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, Resident Advisor & Bicep. 

Following the release of their acclaimed 2024 album HYDRA and a standout run of live shows across Europe - including headline sets across London, Prague, Dublin - Rob Roche and Tim Nolan are using their label, Signs of Space, to present a more direct vision of their sound. Striking a balance between the melodic and the muscular, the emotive and the explosive, it is club music with a narrative edge - built for headphones, main stages, and everything in between.

But Long Island Sound has always been more than just a musical outlet. It's a shared language, a constant thread through years of change - moving cities, navigating life, and growing together. The back catalogue feels like a diary of their friendship, each release capturing a moment in time. From the artwork to the events, to the music itself, every part of the project has been shaped by their hands. Critically-acclaimed Dutch act Weval (AKA Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers) arrive on Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint with their new EP Changed For The Better. The duo hail from Amsterdam, where they have been cultivating a unique sound that balances high energy electronic funk and emotive synth arrangements with bold, beautifully composed melodies and songwriting. The duo recently embarked on a mission to rediscover themselves and what truly drives them, in a process of liberation from self-imposed constraints. Their creative process was reinvigorated with an uninhibited approach and Changed For The Better represents Weval unfiltered, accepting themselves for who they truly are. It’s sincere and heartfelt and unashamedly positive.

Belfast-born Dominick Martin has spent the last 30 years simply creating. He’s done so with a sort of restrained melancholy that’s broad enough to encompass a myriad of tempos and genres. Over 22 albums, this includes his more song-based experimental LPs, from drum & bass into dub, techno, house, ambient, jazz, soul, blues and folk.

The same can be said of his award winning DJ sets: Fluent within his own vast range, favouring the bookings where space and time allow him to draw out a narrative and provoke emotions, predominantly based on his own material. Calibre sets draw from his own personal spectrum, never resort to hype tactics and are perennially sprung with never-before-heard surprises. Whether you experience him taking over a room for the full 6+ hour trip, or he plays a shorter higher impact role on a bigger bill, his singular signature persists: a soulfully honest sense of the transcendental and a unique perspective and approach.
