Taken from the label's back catalog and throwing in exclusive gems, "Remodeled and Reworked Vol. 1" showcases retrospectively six years of Creaked Records' dancefloor-oriented groundbreaking remixes and standout edits. The compilation majestically opens with a remix by genius beatmaker Mike Slott –that never saw the day of light until now– and progresses through Dave Aju's weirdo house, Hound Scales' rough techno and ends with Sutekh's acid experimentation.

Replete with a large tracklist, "Remodeled and Reworked Vol. 1" draws a kaleidoscopic and rich vision of Creaked's output over the last decade. Classic remixes like Lusine's "Paint Club" (from Swiss techno producer Julien Aubert's 2009 self-titled EP 12") reveals Creaked's elegant side, offering moody and smooth atmospheres; while Scuba's "Our Old Teen" (from Starting Teeth's 2008 I Continue In The Nude 12") reaches for the ceiling with distorted hypnotic vocal loops and high-intensity synths.

The compilation also includes three unreleased remixes of Gaspard de La Montagne's 2011 old duo Casque; from London, bass music lover My Panda Shall Fly; Swiss techno producer Isolated Lines; and LuckyMe's pioneer Mike Slott, mentioned above.

Creaked Records' sound, if there is such a thing, it's impossible to pigeonhole. Always seeking to capture new, intriguing and constantly evolving sounds to add to our identity, "Remodeled and Reworked Vol. 1" marks the label as a significant player in the dance music scene.

Then gives them some brand-new spit 'n polish from four of our favorite artists, Glaswegian Dam Mantle, Italian house producer Bottin, techno labemate Isolated Lines and Creaked's newer artist, My Panda Shall Fly.

An Everlasting Journey In The Middle Of Nowhere (Isolated Lines Remix)

From its modest beginnings, the Swiss label Creaked has carved out a unique, colorful, adventurous and independent path of its own in the music world, appealing to both music fans and Djs with its eclectic sounds and textures. Growing international networks and community from Vevey to Manchester and Berlin to San Francisco, the imprint was first launched in Lausanne during the summer of 2004 before moving its office and headquarters to Biel/Bienne in 2018. Over two decades, surviving musical evolution and seismic industry shifts without losing its main position to support electronic music from experimental avant-pop to club sounds and beyond, the label keeps helping define the development of genres by unveiling records from newcomers to established artists. 

To mark its 20th anniversary, Creaked announces the release of "Music Falls into a Mysterious Void", a compilation bringing twenty new and exclusive gems, ten original cuts and ten remixes of emblematic tracks taken off its back-catalog that shaped the label's history with its artistry roster from the early days to the present. Freshly joined by the two brand new signings Nic as Well and Olive T, current artists such as Owelle and Inuit Pagoda rub shoulders with old pals like Larytta, Mochipet, Julien Aubert, My Panda Shall Fly and the late and greatly missed Bloodysnowman. 

With tracks including the dubby-slow-dance reinterpretation of Consor's ‘Monoski’ (2006) by Torchon & Ganj, the gorgeous IDM journey ‘Know Better, Do Better’ by Hrdvsion, the Me&Mobi’s post-electronica surgical cover of ‘Thot’ by Gaspard de La Montagne and the psychedelic-drone-ambient ‘Hamada’ by Al-Sarwib, this celebratory release encompasses a broad and stylistic range of the label's output. 

Highlights of the compilation contain Baltimore mastermind The Soft Pink Truth's rework of 2010’s ‘All Men Must Die’ by Sutekh, Bristol artist Galtier with his slamming remix of ‘Stride’ by Isolated Lines, ‘Who Took This Base Out?’ by Zürich geek minimal techno producer Cosili and pop wave hero Buvette's remix of ‘Clair de Lune’ by Los Orioles. 

While UK artists Ikonika appears with her infectious remix of Oy's ‘First Box Then Walk’ and Elsa Hewitt transforms Verveine's ‘Veine R #1’ into a subtle and delicate version, Parisian hybrid house genius Sunareht rounds off the ceremony with his majestic remix of Scarlett’s ‘Give Up’. 

Mastered by Samuel Vaney and art designed by Monokini, this selection of tracks is way more than just a compilation— this is 20 years of music activities, all packed together in one. Creaked’s tale is the slow rise of a real indie record label with multiple sounds and a wide roster from the ground up, learning through error and success, listening and always adapting without becoming jaded or losing its passion. With "Music Falls into a Mysterious Void", the label showcases its forward-thinking vitality through looking behind and braving into the future.

The year 2015 will see the return of Julien Aubert, our techno secret weapon. Following up the two brilliant EP’s, Paint Club in 2009 and Still Life with Skulls in 2010, he's releasing Mechanic, a purely mental 6-track EP oriented for the night-peak dancefloor.

Packed with three brand new tracks and three remixes by Dollar Mambo and our label homies Isolated Lines and Gaspard de La Montagne, this new EP is deliberately cut to feed all the clubs around the world. With massive, dubby atmospheres in his powerful rhythms, Julien Aubert injects manic details deeply into structured and addictive hypnotic melodies.

This coming Monday is a beautiful day to welcome Julien Aubert – the Swiss techno wizard of Creaked Records – back to the label with his first release in four years – Mechanic EP. The three original tracks and three remixes cast a hypnotizing spell with their dubbed out atmospheres and heavy hitting rhythms. Play, rinse, repeat.

Because Mechanic is pretty damn special, Julien agreed to share the exclusive stream of the EP in full with Big Up family, as well as have a quick chat about some of the stories behind it…

06 Path (Isolated Lines Remix) - Julien Aubert [Mechanic EP]

Launched in early 2013, Creaked's new affiliate Files Rec. releases underground club music by up-and-coming artists. With Reboot, Files Rec. explores the whole range of the electronic music scene, bringing together talented, like-minded artists working in wildly different fields of dancefloor experimentation under one roof. 

Krizzli's "Squirrels in the Sky" and Galtier's "Papi" powerful bass rhythms are cut alongside the more synth-pop and melodic chords of Akito in "A.M. Embrace" or She's Drunk in "New Area". Reboot embraces dance music, grime, bass, techno, jungle and, yes, electronic music, but its emotional core is its biggest asset. It plays like a lovely assembled mix, showcasing brief and percussive dance tracks built to easily seduce you into obsessive repeated listenings. 

The Reboot compilation is eclectic. Within its stylistic diversity, the joyful ghetto-bass of Lemonick's "Stab", for example, can sit right next to La Vie C'est Facile's "Total Shell", a much more grimey and moody piece. Later on the tracklist can one hear the bass-garage of Galtier's "True Type". Whatever the diversity, there’s always a distinctly club spirit mood. 

The exclusive Isolated Lines remix of Krizzli's "Fig Seven", Ansome's "Smeatons" and Dusty Corners' "DITW" complete the selection by infusing dark disorienting techno cuts with precise, hypnotic and industrial energy. The sweltering acidic closing track that is Kalli's "Bodypop Sinewave" is a perfectly fitting end to a compilation that announces the return of Files Rec., a label that twists every genre it touches into a club-night sojourn.

This February will see the launch of Adroit Records out of Switzerland, inaugurating with

Saime’s ‘Symetric’ EP and accompanied by an Isolated Lines remix.

Zurich’s Samuele Carangelo marks his debut release under his newly formed Saime guise here and 

offers it up via his new Adroit Records imprint, which also sees its launch here. 

Opening up the release is title cut ‘Symetric’ which lays its focus on robust distorted rhythms, an 

acid infused lead hook and swelling synth whirs hidden in the depths of the composition. ‘Karism’

follows and drops the tempo slightly, applying a more dubbed out feel to things with stripped-back 

percussion, snaking stabs and infectious bell chimes.

Kicking off the latter half of the EP is ‘Polyphon’, a dark and brooding Techno workout fuelled by 

shuffling drums, menacing synth tones and a pulsating low-end. Lastly to complete the package 

fellow Swiss producer Isolated Lines reworks ‘Polyphon’ delivering a similarly energy fuelled and 

hypnotic slice of melodic Techno to shape up the release.

Corvum is the latest artist to release on Analog Section Records, a well-known veteran producer, composer, sound designer and beatmaker. 

He offers two slices of complex techno remixed by label owner SARF and the Swiss virtuoso Isolated Lines, all part of his "Cosmoneurosis" EP.

Isolated Lines rewrites "Neurosis", getting some of the original drums, aligning everything over a solid kick and using the string samples in a very creative way. The feeling is a mixture of modern techno and the old industrial days: distortion and harmony all in one.

Though Isolated Lines is still a relatively new project, the man behind the moniker has been involved in band projects, sound engineering jobs and Switzerland's underground music scene in general for some years. Coming from a background of listening to and playing in rock, indie and noise groups, his tracks are as much informed by the energy and dynamics of live performance and sound science as they are by the endless possibilities of electronic production. So far, they have found a home on established Swiss label Creaked and been picked up by CLR and Stroboscopic Artefacts artist Tommy Four Seven for release on his 47 imprint.

Isolated Lines productions are warmly textural and full of subtleties, usually favouring trippy, hypnotic grooves over outright aggression. Whilst most of the detail is consciously designed, Isolated Lines makes music in a way which leaves space for randomness and organic elements; listen to the off-kilter swing of 'Raze' or his remix for Gaspard De La Montagne, for example. Especially through a decent sound system, the layers evolve and interact with an exciting air of unpredictability.

As with his studio gear, the live setup is subject to constant change and development. Certain characteristics remain within the sound and the way it is presented though: ambitious arrangements, soaring, euphoric pads and hard-hitting drums. His material is versatile enough for pitch-black basements and early morning festival sets alike.

Blizzard Audio Club is an independent electronic-driven music label created around the ambition to release LPs, cassettes and all other kinds of sound formats. The label based in La Chaux-de-Fonds also aims to be a crutch for artists during the production of their work, as well as a promotion and visibility platform for them.
