rbf.linh is the solo project of Linh Luu, a Rotterdam-based artist, live performer, and producer.  Known also as one half of Animistic Beliefs, Linh channels her experiences as a queer, Vietnamese-Chinese person growing up in the West into dark, unpolished dance music that serves as a bold protest against Asian binary stereotypes.

Her hi-octane mix for the fifth installment of Hyper Real Radio is a peak-time, eclectic, and ecstatic exploration of the South-East Asian hard dance scene and the high-BPM frontiers of leftfield rave culture. It seamlessly blends hard-hitting Guaracha, hyper-charged Jersey club, trance-infused Breakcore, peak time post-Chaabi and even Vietnamese children's songs.

Over the past few years, Chicago-born, Brooklyn-based DJ Eros has steadily refined an eclectic and singular sound steeped in variegated rhythms and leftfield sonics. With a penchant for all things warped and percussive, their unpredictable sets often snake through various genres and tempos, encompassing everything from mutant bass and drum-coated club to fractured techno, dancehall, juke, and more. With a multifaceted identity layered through both his productions and performances, influenced from 90's era rave, sharpened sound design, and a wide spectrum of music he fiinds these stylings have taken him to the decks at Amsterdam’s Garage Noord, Herrensauna and a performance at the experimental festival CTM to name a few. For this mix Oldyungmayn digs deep into more leftfield sounds and less so 4/4 club sounds, that being said this mix can find its way to being played at all hours of the night. Driving yet euphoric. We had a very brief chat with the artist about the mix and what he has coming up.

The DJ and production alias of Daria Lourd, Bored Lord is boundlessly creative and this shows in her unstoppable output. Unique and possibly best known in recent times for her stylistic edits, although her talents and musical knowledge extend far beyond this. 

Pulling together often opposing genres, the highlights of 90's pop anthems marry seamlessly with raucous rave sensibilities in the hands of Daria. No Doubt's 'Don't Speak' becomes a dubbed-up breakbeat bop, Mariah's 'We Belong Together' now a pacey, organ-lead injection of euphoria.

Music is a clear art-form for Daria. A direct reflection of her lived experience as a trans-woman in America. Her rapid release schedule is only one representation of the fight that exists within her and her peers daily. Her music brings with it togetherness, nullifying differences that 'societal norms' attempt to perceive. She's one of the most exciting artists of our time and now she's on the Hyp mix.
