Messe Royale de Versailles – Héritage des Manuscrits Bourbons is a newly imagined grand Baroque Mass by Akiva David, inspired by a personal encounter with history. While visiting distant Bourbon cousins in France, Akiva was shown a cache of original court music manuscripts—works once performed in the gilded Chapelle Royale of Versailles under the Sun King.

This album reawakens that vanished sound world: the opulence of Lully, the theatrical majesty of Rameau, the sacred gravitas of Delalande. Written for period instruments at historical pitch (A=415) and sung in liturgical Latin, each movement moves from solemn prayer to radiant celebration, from the hushed call of a single oboe to the triumphant blaze of natural trumpets and timpani. Recorded with the resonance and spatial grandeur of the Versailles chapel, it evokes the pomp, devotion, and artistic glory of the Ancien Régime.

A work of both personal heritage and historical imagination, this Mass stands as a tribute to the enduring beauty of sacred French Baroque music — and to the manuscripts that carried its spirit across centuries.

The song depicts the final battle between the evil forces and Jesus Christ, The Son of God, where He gloriously wins the battle and sets free the enslaved human souls desperately crying out to Jesus for salvation. "Celles et Ceux des Cimes et Cieux" is a form of a trailer for a fantasy animation. 
An astray, young boy from the village of Giant Tree meets two unlikely companions who will help him to go back home. They go through many dangers and wonders together. Would they able to find a way to the Village of Giant Tree? Perhaps, there will be another great, and heroic tale to come.

With an approval by Gwenn Germain, the animator of the "Celles et Ceux des Cimes et Cieux," the rescoring the animation project was one of the exciting projects that I have done so far.

Also, the Hollywood Music Workshop provided the amazing opportunity to record this project. The work was recorded in the Synchron Stage, one of the world-class studios for the scoring, along with a team of Hollywood experts and Vienna Musicians, the entire session was a success.

Finally, my deep gratitude to Mr. Germain for his permission, and the entire faculty of Hollywood Music Workshop and the Synchron Stage who supported and led the recording session successfully.

I am so honoured to create the Digital Orchestration (MIDI Mockup) of QUO VADIS (1951) movie's Main Title Theme for "The Miklós Rózsa Society" to support their efforts in preserving the immensely rich and outstanding musical heritage of Miklós Rózsa, multiple Oscar winner Hungarian composer, one of the founding fathers of the Hollywood Golden Age Film Music.

The aim of the Digital Reconstruction(MIDI Mockup) was to preserve the legendary film music legacy of Miklós Rózsa, Hungarian Multi-Oscar Winner Hollywood Composer, known for his iconic/epic scores such as the "Spellbound", "Quo Vadis", "Ben-Hur", "The Thief of Bagdad", "El Cid" and many others.

Istvan J. Balazs is a Hungarian film composer and a voting member of the World Soundtrack Awards Academy. Istvan is known for his scores for movies such as the Award Winning "American Family Revival" (US, 2019), When To You Turn To God(HU, 2016), One Day of The Karoli Family(HU, 2017), "JUNGLE" (AT, 2019) movie. Istvan is currently working on his first Oratorio called "THE RETURN OF THE KING OF KINGS", which will be premiered worldwide in 2024.
