A Mila Dietrich la conocimos en muchos de sus sets, los cuales combinaban el tipo de música que la define: techno hambriento y lujuria de trance oscuro. Tras varios lanzamientos en HEARecords y múltiples lanzamientos, la productora y DJ se terminó por convertir en una de nuestras productoras favoritas con el EP que presentó en Slab Note, titulado "Infection".

Mila siempre ha estado interesada en la música desde muy joven, y ha tocado en muchas bandas de rock como baterista con diversas influencias como trip hop, punk y rock garage. Con una fuerte voluntad de compartir su pasión y crear su techno, lanzó su proyecto electrónico como Mila Dietrich. Cuenta historias oscuras y profundas a través de sus pistas, siempre con mucho ritmo.

"You Should Save Me Soon" es su álbum debut, compuesto de diez pistas originales, en las que techno, electro, trance y wave se combinan de la forma en la que sólo Mila sabe hacerlo.

Club Furies es infinitamente feliz de presentarles 'Drive And Cry', la última pista de su álbum debut, la que cierra este espectacular nuevo episodio de Mila, que además viene en colaboración con el espectacular dúo de Grenoble, Francia, Lovataraxx, por lo que agradecemos inmensamente a Mila.

Entre Grenoble y Marsella se tiende un puente sonoro del que 'Drive And Cry' resulta: techno y wave en un espiral ascendente que llega a la absolutización de la belleza artística-musical.

The deep archives of disco legend and synth wizard Patrick Cowley continue to prove inspirational for Dark Entries. Cowley, who passed away from AIDS-related illness in 1982, was the multi-faceted producer behind numerous disco anthems such as Sylvester’s “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)”. Since 2009, Dark Entries has been working with Cowley’s friends and family to shed light on the lesser known facets of this singular artist’s output. This has resulted in a string of celebrated archival albums, including Catholic (featuring Jorge Socarras), School Daze, Muscle Up, Afternooners, Mechanical Fantasy Box, and Some Funkettes.
For the latest addition to this saga, White Trash Boom-Boom, Dark Entries has teamed up with The Stud to release four tracks culled from some of Cowley’s earliest rehearsal tapes. In 1972 Patrick was living in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood with Theresa McGinley and Janice Sukaitis, friends of his from New York. Through his roommates he met Candice Vadalla, better known as erotic actress and producer Candida Royalle. In 1973, Theresa, Candice, and Janice formed White Trash Boom-Boom, an all-female avant-garde performance troupe. Reacting to the Angels of Light and the Cockettes, they captured the spirit of the times: camp, confrontational, and delirious. Theresa recalls, "We brewed a brand of performance that steered away from the doctrinaire and reveled in ambiguities." Patrick provided their theatrical experiments with appropriately zany musical accompaniment. Side A features two songs from the “Country and Western” skit, “Bride” and “Beer and a Pizza”, which were written by Janice Sukaitis, Karen Dunaway, and Cowley. The feminist skit tackled the issue of women’s limited life choices in society. The B-side contains “Baciami” and “Spengo la Luce”, two songs from “Goes to Little Italy”, a skit addressing Catholic expectations of female chastity, performed in 1974 on top of the bar at the Stud. These songs were lifted from an Italian folk 7” found at a thrift store, and feature “improvised” Italian, including a solo by Candida Royalle. The material on White Trash shows Cowley flexing his synthesizer muscles to create curiously camp genre pieces. This is an essential document of a bygone era.
White Trash Boom-Boom is limited to 330 hand-numbered copies. All songs were remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The cover was designed by Eloise Leigh, and features a photograph of the White Trash Boom-Boom skit “Goes to Little Italy”.  The lithograph sleeves were printed by The Aesthetic Union. Included is an insert featuring notes from original Boom-Boom girls Theresa, Janice, and Candida. The release date of White Trash is timed to coincide with the opening of Queer Visions at Haight Street Art Center, an exhibition that explores the role of nightlife in queer art in San Francisco.

On the second slice from their upcoming debut album, Brisbane/ Melbourne cult synth-pop trio 100% gives a pulsing precision to 'Prisoner', previously heard on their 2014 demo cassette. In this new rendition, Chloe, Grace and Lena's call to dance and connect beckons with questions about power, belonging, and safety. Charged with that familiar glistening synth and amped up beats to pull you out of your comfort zone that 100% are known for, 'Prisoner' gives as much as it takes.

There's a new dance in town and it's about to hypnotise your mind and your hips…it's called The Turantula. Listen closely and Cong will tell you exactly how to do it. Athina Uh Oh of Gut Health fame joins Cong on vocals, providing both sultry approval of the dance and Patti Smith-like poetic flourishes. It’s a swampy stomper crawling and creeping to a Greek zebekiko rhythm. Athina summons the ancient ancestors of the dance and lets them wild. Cong, croons and wails using the dance to yearn for the “sweet bliss” of oblivion. 

Luckily for us, we now have the way into an immediate flow-state, it has eight eyes and is eight times reality : The Turantula.

An abstract soundtrack, inspired by places and memories left behind. 'Memory Extraction' is a brand new long-form work by Melbourne producer Compound (Per Bystrom), created exclusively for Ears Have Ears. Bystrom is a Swedish native who has been active in his new homeland since moving here in 2003, contributing to irreverant and well-respected bands Exhaustion, Leather Towel, Voice Imitator and in trio mode with Chris Smith and Matthew Mero. 

As Compound, Bystrom has released 'Eternal Estate' on Nice Music in 2017, followed by 'Psychic Withdrawal' on Altered States Tapes in 2018, fusing industrial techno convention with dense atmospheres.

"Memory Extraction was recorded during the off-season in Victorian Peninsula coastal town Rye, and engineered by Mikey Young at his home. This elongated piece reflects on places and memories left behind, connections lost, abstracted and half remembered. I grew up with VHS, and watched a majority of my favourite movies on pirated BASF video tapes. The static drenched voices and warbling vision is how I recall those early years in Sweden, and I wanted to start this with the familiarity of an old memory. It's exactly what you think it is. I love how old memories are less distinct, but seem to carry a heavier emotional load. As we look back on more recent events and progressing through the piece, a clearer view reveals itself. The tail of the recording reflects on memories still forming. These fragments coalesce biologically with an intangible sense of nostalgia, both musically and emotionally – perhaps a soundtrack to the memory of the listener hearing this piece for the first time." - PER BYSTROM
