After “Sweet Bombs” (Discontinu 2013) Music Komite brings us “Congo Square” (Discontinu 2015) with which they pay particular tribute to a square in New Orleans where during times of slavery, the african community would often come together to dance and make music. With time, these gatherings played a fundamental role in the origines and evolution of Jazz.

As it was in the square, the album “Congo Square” is an open space, a collage of suggestions based on minimalist nods, elements of hip hop, post rock reminiscents, cut’n’paste, electronica, folk, dub and the light of the sea. It´s an album that moves through these parallel worlds that inhabit everyday life, music that is seen as you see a poem, almost a mood or state of being. An album that portrays a Francisco Calderon, impossible to label, an opener of doors, an ally of intuition and beauty, humility and coherence.

Despues de su trabajo “Sweet Bombs”(DIS13) editado en 2013. Music Komite nos trae “Congo Square” (Discontinu 2015), su ultimo álbum, el cual supone un paso mas en su evolución natural, con el que rinden su particular homenaje a una plaza de Nueva Orleans donde en épocas de esclavitud, la comunidad africana solía reunirse para bailar y hacer música. Con el tiempo estas reuniones jugarían un papel mas que importante en el origen y evolución del jazz.
Congo Square el álbum, es un espacio abierto, un collage de sugerencias a base de guiños minimalistas, elementos del hip hop, reminiscencias post-rock, cut’n’paste, electrónica, folk, dub y luz de mar. Un disco que transita por esos mundos paralelos que habitan lo cotidiano, música que se ve como se ve un poema, casi un estado de animo. Un disco que retrata a un Francisco Calderon imposible de etiquetar, aperturista, aliado de la intuición y la belleza, de la humildad y la coherencia, transversal, música y persona a la altura, lo sabrán todos los que lo conocen, lo conocerán todos los que escuchen Congo Square.
