Baikal Nomads is an organic house record label and their new release features two original tracks by Erhan Yilmaz plus stunning remixes from Lello Fusco, Zuma Dionys, Kolomin and Wakhan.

Erhan Yilmaz is a Turkish artist whose music takes influence from the coastal beauty found on the shores of the black sea. His music taste takes influence from genres ranging from folk to disco, and he mixes his love for live instrumentation with electronic beats to create organic house tracks. This is his second time working with Baikal Nomads and his music can also be found on other labels such as trndmsk, Cosmic Awakenings and Kosa.

Lello Fusco is an Italian artist who returns to Baikal Nomads with a downtempo remix in the style he has featured on other imprints such as Tibetania Records, Lump and Camel Riders.

Making a return to Baikal Nomads, Zuma Dionys is a revered organic house artist that is known for the psychedelic music he has featured on the likes of Sol Selectas, Pipe & Pochet and Bar 25.

Kolomin are a duo of brothers that have featured their spellbinding style on scene leading labels such as Underyourskin, KataHaifisch and Exotic Refreshment.

Wākhan is a French artist who is part of the collective that runs O'Tawa Records and along with releases on his own respected imprint, he has also featured on other record labels such as Copy Cow and MONADA.

"Freeze" is first of the original tracks and it's got trippy acid synths layered with sweeping pads, plus flowing percussion to create a mesmerising groove.

"W Street" has sun-drenched guitar licks and a warbling melody synth that is layered over the pitched tones of pulsating rhythms while the deep bassline fills the track with warmth.

Lello Fusco's remix of "W Street" adds a live conga loop and new synth chords that swell with tension as this dramatic rework unfolds.

Zuma Dionys' remix of "Freeze" adds extra percussion to lift the energy, while pan pipes transport the listener to the tropical regions that are the traditional home of this exotic instrument.

Kolomin's rework of W Street works in synthesised strings that like the calm before a storm, add ominous tranquillity underpinned by melodic bass chords, which complement the original's guitar sound to create a cinematic atmosphere.

Wākhan closes out the release with a hallucinogenic remix of Freeze which adds atmospheric textures and mind-bending sounds to the original's trippy groove.

For its sixth release, Around Midnight chose to showcase the mesmerizing work of French artist Rammö. What if you were forced to spend your life on a mostly deserted island in the middle of the ocean? In such a thought experiment, hundreds of impressions come to mind. How would I obtain water and food? Are there wild or dangerous animals on the island, and would I be able to produce or find the necessary tools? Alongside these existential issues, questions about social connections and interactions also come up. Are there other individuals on the island, and if so, would they be friendly towards me? Considering it as a long-term situation, such an island life would likely be challenging to sustain. However, as a short break from everyday life … Nusa by Tim Tenhoff and Ru Yan reminds us of a long-gone and more emotional era of electronic music. The track awakens the desire for a white sandy beach and a starry night. Sipping an ice-cold cocktail at the bar while listening to the waves crashing. A deep conversation and a tear on the cheek perfectly complete the scenario as we walk arm in arm back to our bungalow.

"The story of “Falafel” goes through many countries, continents and families. It actually starts in Israel, where I used to play a Jazz gig for almost 4 years. One day my good friend (and amazing musician) Ori Dekel came up with a Middle Eastern jazz tune and called it Falafel.
I immediately fell in love with this tune and used to play it acoustically in Jazz gigs all over the country and the world.

When I was moving into the electronic music world, I wanted to infuse those sounds into my “live-electronic” hybrid shows, but it needed a twist, to fit the dance floors.
I shortened and adjusted the melody, and asked my musician friends from around the world to record the melody and their own interpretation for a solo, each with their own instruments. That way we had percussion, piano (Ori Dekel) and vocals (Noe Ben Shusan) from Israel, guitars (Rafi Levi) from LA, a trumpet (Aquiles Navarro) from Panama and so much more. I blended the sounds with the help of my good friend DJ Knoe1 and just put it out there independently.

I played Falafel for over 3 years on almost any possible dance floor (even weddings and Bat Mitzvahs) and it never failed me once! However as my sound evolved, I felt the track needed some touch and a proper release with the right label.
That was when , I made a new friend, Berge Sahakian aka Goldcap. Berge fell in love with Falafel on the spot and was the first to start playing it at his gigs around the globe. So when The Soul Brothers approached me to sign this track on Talavera Records, it was only natural for it to come out as a 3 track EP from all the above.
With the Jewish and Arab sounds of the Middle East, and the Latin flair of the Mexican due??? We can only hope this isn’t too spicy for you!"
