Welcome to Wine2Wine Business Forum 2021 Series. The sessions are recorded and uploaded on Italian Wine Podcast. wine2wine is an international wine business forum, held annually in Verona Italy since 2014. 

About this Session
Vision 2030 is the first project to define a strategy for the development of the Italian wine-growing system, the result of the analysis and experience of entrepreneurs and managers of wine companies in our country. A project that stems from the production base with the precise objective of bringing out the concrete demands of the sector and, consequently, to be able to provide the most coherent possible answers to the real needs of Italian wine companies and in line with the dynamics of the markets.

Ettore Nicoletto
Ettore Nicoletto began his career at Casa Vinicola Zonin where he held various positions, including Exports Director. In 2004, he moved over to the Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, where was appointed General Manager and then CEO from 2008 to 2020. In March 2020, Nicoletto was appointed President and CEO of Bertani Domains, a group owned by Angelini Group. Today Nicoletto is Vice President of the Vini di Federvini Group; President of the Tutela Lugana DOC Consortium; and a Federdoc Board Member.

Matilde Poggi  
Matilde Poggi was born in 1962 and has been a winemaker in Veneto since 1984, in Cavaion Veronese, area of production of Bardolino doc.In 2010 she joined the FIVI Council, the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers, with the position of Vice-President, before becoming President in July 2013.Since April 2015 he has been Vice President of CEVI, the European Confederation of Independent Winegrowers.

Roberta Crivellaro
Roberta Crivellaro is the Managing Partner of the Italian Practice of the international law firm Withersworlwide. She specializes in corporate transactions (also cross-border) commercial and real-estate.Constantly listed by the Legal 500 directory as one of the best Italian lawyers in the Food & Beverage sector, she has dealt with the most important transactions in the wine industry.

Massimo Tuzzi
Massimo Tuzzi, 48 years old, from Friuli, has been at the top of Terra Moretti Vino since September 2020, after a long experience in the wine sector that began in 1997. Chief Executive Officer of the companies of the group: Bellavista, Contadi Castaldi, Petra, Sella & Mosca, Tenuta la Badiola, Tuzzi is today at the head of one of the main companies in the wine sector with 1150 hectares of vineyards located in some of the most suitable areas of Italian viticulture. Consolidation of the generational transition and management and enhancement of human capital: the cornerstones of his mandate.

Marco Nannetti
Marco Nannetti was born in Imola in 1968 and obtained the diploma of Agrarian Expert in 1987 at the Istituto Tecnico Agrario “G. Scarabelli” in Imola. Married and father of two children, from 1990 to 2009 he was the regional manager of Emilia Romagna for the wine sector of Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori (the Italian Farmers’ Confederation)

Marcello Lunelli
Marcello Lunelli, 53 years old, is the successor of Mauro Lunelli in the role of winemaker for the technical-production sector. He gained a lot of experience first at school and then in the field, that is, in the cellar and the vineyard, through internships and studies in Germany, California, and South Africa. And, of course, in Ferrari next to his uncle.

Kristen Reitzell, SVP Communications & Digital Marketing at Jackson Family Wines, can give attendees a breakdown of the social platforms that are critical to U.S. consumers and how to use them to grow your business, from content creation to amplification (advertising) to community management. Kristen will discuss the importance of these owned channels for both large and small brands, and the value of meaningful and impactful content. Christopher Sachs is a wine and spirits professional based in Central New Jersey. He was classically trained in Culinary Arts at The Culinary Institute of America where he took a short course in the study of wine. That’s where his love of food and wine really blossomed. Shortly after graduation, he worked in several restaurants before continuing to study wine with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) at the International Wine Center in NYC and has since completed the Advanced Course in Wines and Spirits, as well as the Diploma of Wines and Spirits. In April 2022, he traveled to Verona to partake in the VinItaly International Academy and passed the exam to become an Italian Wine Ambassador. He currently works as a Sales Representative with Skurnik Wines and Spirits in the NJ/NY area and consults with various retail and restaurant partners on a daily basis. On top of his professional wine career, he also is the owner of Travel By Wine, an education and consultancy center for all things beverage! Christopher finds joy in exploring the world by way of wine, spirits, sake, and cider and sharing his 'travels' with everyone.

Guest Bio - Isabella Pelizzatti Perego
Isabella Pelizzatti Perego, together with her two brothers, Guido and Emanuele, are the 5th generation of Arpepe. 
She was born February 4th 1970 in Sondrio. She graduated with a degree in Food Science and Technology Degree in Università degli Studi di Milano, (including a 3 months Erasmus Project in University College Cork, Ireland). Then after, she took her Master’s degree in Oenology in Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Piacenza Piacenza. Prior to her involvement to Arpepe, she worked as a New Product and Packaging Development Dept. in United Distillers & Vintners (DIAGEO) in S.Vittoria d'Alba, CN). From December 2001 until today, she works with family at ARPEPE in Valtellina (following mostly export, marketing, promotion and hospitality).

“We produce Barolo but not only, because we love all the wines of our land. We believe in beauty, in work done well, in attention to detail, in creativity that respects tradition. We are a family and artisan company. We are accompanied by a young team, enthusiastic and passionate as we are. We directly follow the work of our vineyards, because it is the basis of uncompromising quality, but above all because we like it so much. Our wines are born elegant, complex, delicate. They have the identity and personality that we would like to find in every glass on our table." These are the words with which the Vajra company presents itself: a true undisputed point of reference in the Langhe lands, that is, a winery that has always been linked to the traditions and territory it belongs to, capable over time of establishing itself with products which have reached absolute qualitative levels.
Vajra is one of the historical names of the Piedmontese Langhe, a company that has extended over a vineyard area covering a total of fifty hectares since 1972. Located in the municipality of Barolo, the winery produces strongly territorial wines, starting from all the most typical vineyard varieties of the area.
A family-run company, where two generations work side by side, creating a combination of dynamism and loyalty towards the most ancient local traditions, to which is added particular attention to the most modern technical and scientific innovations that progress is capable of at the moment to offer: mass selections, treatments done with the utmost respect for the territory and nature using synthetic products only where strictly necessary. During the harvest phase, and also subsequently, rigorous selections of the grapes are carried out, to achieve the maximum result in each bottle in terms of fidelity to the vine and the Langhe terroir. Simply excellent wines, those I labeled "Vajra", capable of expressing the best enological essence of the Piedmontese lands like few others.

Paolo and Noemia d’Amico have pursued their passion in wine and have created an award winning portfolio of 8 organic labels grown and produced in Umbria. Mainly using French grape varieties, the volcanic soil from the Calanchi Valley adds a new take on established variants. Once produced, the wines are stored to the sound of classical music in the cellar created by Noemia d’Amico and world renowned architect Luca Brasini. Made from tufo rocks, the cellar carves its way underneath the hanging garden, via magnificent structural arches that create an enchanting pathway to the library, adjoining a special room where tasting takes place amongst vintages from 30 years of Paolo e Noemia d’Amico wines.

Juliana Colangelo is a Vice President at Colangelo & Partners, the leading wine and spirits communications agency in the U.S. Juliana joined Colangelo & Partners in 2013 with previous experience in events, hospitality, and nonprofit development. During her tenure at C&P, Juliana has led the development of the California office, growing the agency’s domestic presence to a dedicated office of 13 people with representation of leading wine companies such as Jackson Family Wines, Far Niente, Charles Krug Winery, Foley Family Wines and more. Juliana has completed her WSET Level 3 and her eMBA in Wine Business with Sonoma State University, allowing her to bring a strategic and sales-oriented approach to communications strategy for the agency. In 2021, Juliana was named one of PR News’ Top Women in PR in the “Rising Stars” category. In 2022 Juliana became a Vinitaly International Academy Italian Wine Ambassador.

More about today’s winery
The Tenuta di Fessina project was born in 2007, when after a series of trips aimed at studying and discovering the Etna terroir, Silvia Maestrelli, late Tuscan producer and pioneer on the volcano, decided to stop in Rovittello, on the northern side, where today the beating heart of Fessina resides. Here she was captivated by the uniqueness of the place, the very particular position of the soil, gathered between two volcanic slopes dating back to 1809 and 1911. From here it all begins, first in the North, precisely in 2007, then to the South West, one of the bets initials made in 2009, and finally to the East, in the municipality of Milo, starting from 2012. The philosophy of TDF project, is to collect and vinify different snapshots, all taken from different sides and only in historical reference areas. Jacopo Maniaci takes place at the winery in 2014 as winery director and in 2021 as CEO, he graduated Economics and communication at UNI of Messina, Sicily, and took a Master Degree at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Cuneo. His family is in restaurants and breeding in the mountains of Nebrodi, but he lives at the winery since 2017, taking care of the whole TF project. Fessina in particular rests on an alluvial residual, pyroclastic, a sandy and fine deposit, made of volcanic sand and pumice, dating back between 5,000 and 15,000 years old, draining and capable of guarantee elegance and verticality. Today the winery sells in 20 countries, with average 80.000 bottles of DOC Etna wines.

Born in Mexico, with a mother from Hawaii via Korea and an anthropologist father from New York via Paris, he was weaned on exotic and delicious foods.
