Each artist on Ombra 012 – Mike Sacchetti, Volta Cab, Zakmina, Salto Honduras and Pontias, all making their debut on Curses’ ever incisive label – hails from a different territory: Lithuania, Russia, Israel, Spain and France all representing… And all sounding deep, mysterious, sleazy, cosmic and alluring.

Dig deeper for more smouldering grooves as Mike Sacchetti’s "Dead As Disco" gets full-on psychedelic in an early 2000s Ewan Pearson kind of way with hints of end of the 1980s New Order’s sonority. "I wanted to capture the essence of Dark Disco music and mix it with the influence of Psychedelic Rock. For me, it’s a very emotional, introspective and melancholic track, but that’s just how I feel about it", said Mike, whose contribution to this indispensable release ended up bringing an Indie Rock touch to the multi-genre compilation. that delivers something for everyone. It’s definitely another superlative EP from the Ombra family.

Here in Calypso we are big fans of Mytron & Ofofo. Their track Something for the mind was one of our favourite tracks a couple of years ago. So when Mytron came to us saying that he took it upon himself to re-work some of our Take Aways we were more than delighted and didn't hesitated to ask him if he will like to release them with us. 
So here they are, Peru's Aristidez and Brazil's Celestino get the Mytron threatment to take their tracks even to newer heights. The result is funky and dirty as you would expect from the man.

Paradiso Analogico (Franz Scala Remix)

'Iguana is the debut release of Dead Husband on Bordello A Parigi. The American group push their unique sound to new levels across this EP. Tracks, like the title piece, pace on skeletal beats with lyrics soaked into melody to create a bliss steeped style touched with melancholy. “Memory” trills with a similarly emotive tone. A lovelorn line marches to a pulsating drum. Machine words speak, melting with tear-stained chords in a contemporary work fitting of the modern romantics. The B-Side adopts a new complexion with “They’ll Be Fine Without You.” Despite the finality of the title, the track courses with an invigorating energy as rhythms race next effervescent notes. Percussive patterns quicken for the close, “Lake.” Sheer crystalline keys scale skyward, dancing and writhing between steady kicks and echoing voice. Synthesizer gems care of this Boston based outfit.'

Set for release March 27th 2020, the Riotvan family reassembles for the third installment in their ‘Familiar Faces’ compilation series. Next to regulars like Llewellyn, Jennifer Touch, Reznik & Mikesh and New Hook, the Leipzig-based record label invited befriended acts Zombies In Miami and Paulor to contribution to the bundle as well. Titled ‘Falling Apart’, label mainstay Llewellyn competently connects the dots between ’80s synth aesthetics, silky arpeggios and peculiar vocal-parts. Tip!

We welcome to the Moustache Records family the oldskool electro legend Martin Matiske with his Electronic disco-ish 12 inch EP release "Robotic Theatre" This is a future vision of a theatre run by robots and is the era in which machines entertain mankind. Operas are written and played in a mechanical way. The pieces of "Robotic Theatre" deal with different terms of stage work. Track A1 is called "Acting Faces" and Refers to the rehearsing of the role, as well as the interaction of the actors on stage. The well-being of the actor does not often match what is played. He has to play even If it's painful. B2 is the track called "Machinery" Human beings are machines that build machines today. The advantage is perfection and time saving. Robots as actors are reliable and precise. B1 listen to the name "Transistor Dances"its Like The Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms you just need a dance to express happiness and remind your culture. Dances bring people together. A robotic dance should not be missing in a play. The last track of the EP is the tune "Practise" a story about a robot the has to practise to achieve perfection and it is fun." Vintage synth fetishist and genuine circuit-bending whiz, Italo Brutalo is no typical dealer of hardware-squeezed juice. Tapping in the endless potentialities of his analogue army of retro machinery, the German producer has built a sound ID that defies conventions and takes pride in trespassing all the frontiers and limitations associated to the etiolated map of dance music styles.
From EBM-laced rhythms to jagged techno motifs, via off-pistes divagations into electro, disco, hip-hop and kosmische spaces, Italo Brutalo writes a story of genre-busting, all-embracing love for the primordial groove. Having first dabbled into production through the studio equipment of his father, young Fries quickly caught the virus of music-making and its idiosyncratic logic, using all the means within his reach to turn his ideas into actual pieces of sound. With over 25 years of fiddling, tweaking, bastardising bars of automated fire so people can have a blast on the dance floor, Italo Brutalo has gained a potent reputation amongst jockeys and producers, recently making it to the cover of Das Synthesizer Magazine.
