VALKA was formed in 2011 and consists of band members Brandon Gendvilas and Robb Gilligan. Their music features a dynamic range of folk-pop melodies laid on a backdrop of sweeping orchestral and electronic soundscapes. The band was initially an unlikely match as each member had very stark differences in what they brought to the table.
 
Brandon, born and raised in Portland, OR, studied classical piano from an early age. He later branched out into being a singer-songwriter, finding a passion for crafting lyrics and melodies. Collaborating with many Portland based musicians he fell in love with the art until, at age 19, Brandon moved to LA to pursue a dream in songwriting & performing. Born into a musical family in New Jersey, Robb moved to Phoenix, AZ when he was 13 and quickly became part of the punk rock music scene. After playing in several bands he moved to LA in pursuit of songwriting & audio engineering. He worked for many years as a music & sound editor at a prominent feature film trailer house where he was exposed to the epic scale of theatrical music orchestrations before breaking off and starting his own company.
 
The duo first collaborated in 2010 during the recording sessions of Brandon's solo EP, where Brandon had hired Robb to produce the EP. After their experience of working together in the studio they knew something special was happening musically. As time went on, Brandon brought his poetic lyrics, folk influences, and grand vision while Robb brought his ear for cinematic productions, virtual instruments, and the energy of rock; together forming the unique sound that is now VALKA.
 
And now after several years spent in the studio self-producing their recordings, VALKA has released their debut LP album May 19th, 2015.

George is a Film-Multimedia and Video Game Composer, Orchestrator and Musicologist.

Having composed the music for over 30 films (6 feature movies, 25 short movies), many TV Shows, an American Epic Video Game, Documentaries and several other projects, with talented and globally awarded directors and producers. He is delivering popular but unusual genres of film and television music from his professional studio globally. He has written several kinds of music (ambient, epic, abstract, minimal, contemporary, classical, ethnic and others).
His training includes all areas of traditional and modern composition, orchestration, music preparation, and conducting for film and visual mediums (MA in Film Scoring from SMKS-Denmark, Bachelor and MA of Music in Musicology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Degrees and Diplomas of Harmony, Counterpoint, Byzantine Music, Fugue and Orchestration).

Touring Performance Artist & "Vaudeville Singer-songwriter" Adjoa Skinner was born and raised outside of Buffalo, NY but now calls Los Angeles home. After spending two years working in Africa decided to pursue her career as a singer-songwriter in Los Angeles where she spent 7 years performing the club circuit. After being discovered by a local booker in Los Angeles Adjoa held two weekly residencies sponsored by Warner Music & ASCAP until she caught the ear of Grammy Award Winning Producer Charlie Peacock. Classically & Jazz trained with over 20 years of professional experience in music, making Skinner a sought after performer, teacher, session vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. She has opened for Grammy Award Winners The Civil Wars, Charlie Peacock, Amy Grant, Beth Hart, Reeve Carney (Spiderman The Musical),  Daniel Bedingfield, Jason Joseph, The Voice’s Tony Lucca, American Idol’s Jackie Tohn, The Jonas Brothers, Shel and more.
Adjoa has performed in North America, Asia, Africa & Europe. She recently released the EP “The Sun" and acoustic album “Unfinished” in January 2013, her 5th & 6th musical releases of her career as a singer-songwriter.  Skinner was a finalist in the Grammy Museum’s Be Heard Showcase in April 2013 and the International Songwriters Competition. Adjoa is a sought after Songwriter and lyricist and was chosen by Norwegian Tenor Torstein Sodal to write the lyrics to the famous Edvard Grieg Song “Morning Mood”.  All in all, Adjoa is the total package and is moving not only herself but everyone she is connected with towards their destiny.
