AKASE, the new collaborative project between Harry Agius (better known as Midland) and Robbie Redway, is the latest artist signing to !K7 Records. Formed in Leeds, written in London and finished in Berlin under the influence of Ewan Pearson, "Rust" is the first piece of music to surface from the project.

As Midland, Harry Agius has built a reputation for releasing delicately brilliant bass driven house and techno, and over the course of his various releases he has hinted at a desire to explore sounds away from the dancefloor. Coupled with the songwriting talents and vocals of Robbie Redway, "Rust" delivers on the potential of that exploration.

In addition to the original mix, the "Rust" single includes a Midland remix, which peels back the vocals and adds some dancefloor thrust.

Someone who steadfastly marches to the beat of his own drum, Pépe molds together a collection of crystalline melodies, gentle pads, and elegant drum programming that are as unique as they are enjoyable to listen to. Having come out with a record on Loose Fit earlier this year, the Valencian producer continues on his creative streak with a new release set to debut on New York's Let's Play House next month.

Simply titled Aerial, Pépe delivers a 4 track EP that is situated perfectly for springtime with its playful-like demeanor that mimics the feeling of nature and the skies coming to life once again. The tune we have for you today is titled " As Long as There's Sunset," and it truly gets to the heart of what this record is all about. From start to finish, Pépe utilizes syncopated rhythms and jovial synth arrangements to express a movement and energy that makes the listener feel as if they are floating on air - taking in the mesmerizing views that await our eyes as our planet begins to blossom around us.

This is the debut solo release from @eris-drew, featuring 3 new songs meticulously mixed for the maximum impact of the Motherbeat. From the very beginning of the emergence of Eris Drew, we at IT have been blown away by the power of her DJ sets, where she channels the psychedelic energies of rave and love — the music reflects the power of transition and of fully becoming who you are. Part of what was so exciting to us is that her sets find a new path through the sounds and ideas that inspired No Way Back and so many other wonderful things. So we asked her to create an EP for IT that would reflect these ideas, and our favorite ecstatic healer delivered! Here we find her carefully exploring the intersections of House and Breakbeat culture, a proto rave ecstasy music that exudes the Fluids of Emotion, higher consciousness and the conceptual art of the KLF.

Eris has previously released on a compilation on Needs Not For Profit, and a split EP with her equally inspiring partner Octo Octa, but this is her first full solo EP. This EP was recorded at Eris Drew’s parents’ home in Chicago and mixed in the Interdimensional Laboratories in Detroit with BMG.

Maybe no surprise from an artist who cites among his inspirations “the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest,” Flora FM’s productions spill over with colour and vibrance. Recognisably part of an emerging tradition that seems to be North America’s answer to UK breaks culture, Flora FM’s latest release on Exotic Robotics continues the label’s run of playful, melody-rich dance music while folding in extra punch on tracks like Bronze Teeth and Magic Pebbles.

A few months after the first instalment of our ‘Crysta Ampullaris’ V.A. series, we’re back for a second volume always with top-tier producers Reims has to offer and the will of showcasing their eclecticism. Good news, our little family has recently extended with the arrival of our dear trance-enthusiast Ayuji, whom first track ever appears at the end of this release.

Slowglide continues his journey through murky soundscapes and mid-tempo explorations, resulting in ‘Ego Death’, a bass-fueled kaleidoscopic trip to strange parcels of the unconscious. Exotic tones, screaming synths and heavy kick bursts progressively make the listener to drown himself into those introspective quicksands with no way out.

Taking inspirations from a large minimal background, Lebird supplied us with a high velocity tune driven by a perfect swing mastery and old school samples chopping. Somewhere between UKG and electro, well-named ‘Venturi’ showcases Lebird’s remarkable skills for dynamic twists and sound design, making it an smart tool to smash a dancefloor.

Terrible child Shonen Bat back at it again with ‘Fastglide’ (odd name choice, innit?), a futuristic high-octane joint that could become the perfect soundtrack for (real) hoverboards competitions to come. Bouncy drum programming, fast gliding bassline and moving synths melt together at some point, leading to a climax of pure euphoria.

Nigm’s offering to our symbolic divinity sounds like a sonic patchwork of reminiscent echoes from ancient lores. Like tales, musical parts are each taking us to different landscapes and eras of a same place, until the world collapse under gods’ distorted kicks and hardcore breakbeats in order for the emerge of a new one.

Lastly, rookie Ayuji’s golden touch provided us with a melodic masterpiece. ‘King Midas’ is a pure celestial gem, celebrating the golden days of early trance with a modern twist. Layers of piano, fairy choirs, glittering synths and crystal tones bring the listener to a total contemplative state as the 909 beats and the bassline grow in intensity. A perfect sunrise tune for sure.

For our forth release, T4T LUV NRG present an e.p. of two beautiful songs and one evocation by label co-founder, DJ, and producer Octo Octa (Maya Bouldry-Morrison). “She’s Calling” is the third piece in Octo Octa’s two-year exploration of the connection between music and ritual, closing the loop on themes explored on her “For Lovers” ep (Technicolour, 2019) and full-length album “Resonant Body” (T4T LUV NRG, 2019). 

While many describe dance music in terms of escape, for Octo Octa and many others like her, dance music is about connection. The connections we feel on a dancefloor are transformative, but in time spent alone, dance music remains a powerful tool for connection with nature, with ourselves, and with something ineffable that feels like magic. The title track, “Goddess Calling,” captures a moment of such revelry, a result of the union of sound and ritual.  

Maya wrote the second song, “Find Your Way Home,” in early 2020, a few weeks before she cancelled her tour and headed back to the States because of the pandemic. She originally intended the title as a metaphor, the journey being internal, but the title would prove to be prescient. She made the song in order to take a trip into herself, to bring herself peace during an intense time.

Many religious and mystery traditions employ the use of uttered word formulas as a way to bring something into your life. “Spell for Nature” is Octo Octa asking in her own voice to connect with nature personified in the form of a goddess. The recording is about the moment when she saw something she knew was there all along. When she peaked behind the curtain and found something enveloping and eternal.
