The second podcast in the IT field recording series hails from IT's DEMF party for 2011, Too Far Gone… No Way Back. The concept of Too Far Gone being a more free-for-the-mind music, but still totally lost in it, going from door opening until 12:30, when the party would switch into full gear as No Way Back. We had done this once before at the Tielab loft with Adult. and Perspects, and for this year we enlisted 3 ultra heads to share the decks, Carlos Souffront, Macho City's Scott Zacharias, and Sal P of NYC, Liquid Liquid et al. The place was decked out, the sound was perfect, everything was flowing to be an amazing party when a misinformed task force looking for underage drinkers showed up, netting no one but tragically ending the evening. Thus we call this last 90 minutes of Too Far Gone the only evidence of "the greatest party that never was".

When the culture of hip-hop first began to take shape in the 1970s, 
it consisted of at least four fundamental elements: 
deejaying, emceeing, graffiti, and breaking.

Breaking, popularly known as breakdancing today, was created 
in the Bronx in New York City. The term breakdancing as it’s used 
in the media often mixes New York’s b-boying and West Coast–developed dance styles like popping, locking, and the electric boogaloo. B-boy dance moves are influenced by a number of cultural sources, including African-American and Afro-Caribbean music, kung fu, and capoeira.

Breaking reached peak popularity in the mid-1980s, when a 
number of films showcased the moves and the youth who created it. 
Breaking began as a mode of self-expression; it was a part of a larger culture that reflected the social, economic, and political conditions of the youth at that time. Now, decades later, as the style and moves of breaking have changed, so have some of its traditions.

And I always wanted to ask Andrea if he could provide a mix for the bin. He knows all these timeless D&B jams ... I know Andrea as an all areas music aficionado with a strong background in D&B.
