"Soldado de Amor" is a haunting ballad by Brazilian American singer songwriter Monica da Silva. It's now being featured on the BBC Drama “The Replacement”, and the Paramount Network series "American Woman". The song will soon be included on da Silva’s new album, a follow up to her debut album “Brasilissima”. da Silva co-wrote "Soldado de Amor" with her brother Bruce Driscoll (Freedom Fry, Blondfire). The track was produced by Bruce Driscoll, along with longtime collaborator Chad Alger (Complicated Animals). 

Da Silva’s music has been featured on The World Cup, TED, Ibiza Beats, and Putumayo World Music. She also writes and releases music with guitarist and producer Chad Alger, as the Indie duo Complicated Animals.

When they were creating their brand new Single “Show Me”, Complicated Animals’ Monica da Silva and Chad Alger, were greatly inspired by the music of the 80s, a love for lush dreamy pop songs, and all things David Lynch. 

“Show Me is one of those songs that just came out quickly and easily,” says da Silva. “I’d had the melody and the lyrics (Show me that you want me) stuck in my head for a few days. That really struck me as an intense, sexy idea for a song. Chad dug an old synthesizer we had out of the closet. We started stacking sounds and layering vocals. Virtually all of the sounds in the track were created using the same synth.”

Complicated Animals released their debut EP “In This Game” in 2015. The EP featured songs in English and Portuguese. It was featured on Pop Matters and NPR. Stay tuned for more tracks from Complicated Animals in 2018. Make Up

The new material features the band not only doing what they do best  - singing songs about feeling low and getting high - it sees Sticky tighten their focus, and songwriting, and come up with a bunch of  psychotic surf dub love songs. 
They have turned up a bunch of songs about the bands four members recent break ups (this band breaks up in cycles apparently). Co-incidence? We're not really sure. Shortly after the band started touring each of the members went through a break-up and this bunch of songs tells the story (albeit through glorified glasses). The release continues the development of their charismatic genre mash sound. Psych, surf dub garage: Caress your Soul smashes it all together.

sup dog? this is my first release out on CloudKid. I wrote and produced this song in the middle of a forest. The song is about people's ability to shut off all their senses when they know that something is destroying them. Hope you can relate x
