Born and raised in Baltimore, MD this son, husband, and father has been embracing his love for music since the age of 12. His earlier introductions to music were through Hip-Hop, which led him to writing raps, that later led him to being the co-founder of The YHGM Brand (one of the fastest growing brands in the Dc-Maryland-Virginia region).

His interest for DJ'n grew when he discovered his ability to use music to influence culture and make people move. Shortly after that, he was playing events for "DTLR, INC" (one of the leading retailers in the fashion industry for 30 years).  He applied his talents to the "BET Music Matters Tour" as the official tour DJ for recording artist CJ Hilton, playing venues all over the United States.

Since marrying the love of his life and having their first child, they have followed their interest to Los Angles, CA where they have started a national non-profit "Vanrod Cares, INC" to sponsor a center for the arts, and to sponsor community outreach efforts to support family interaction an efforts against childhood obesity.

He has performed at various events and retail in-store promotions, alongside top R&B and Hip-Hop Artists such as: Stalley, Currency, Milly Esquire, The Cool Kids, Greenspan, Trey Songz, Cheat-em GotBars, K. Michelle, T.I., Tra Holiday, Mario, Keyshia Cole, J-Cole, and CJ Hilton, just to name a few. What seems to many as an overnight success was actually birthed by hard work, countless relationships, and his faith in God, which he never takes for granted. In expanding his brand DJ Vanrod looks forward to sharing his experience of being a “National DJ” with the world capturing moments behind the scenes and on the stage.
