Pete (The Clocktoys) came up with the basic bassline and sent it to me. I reconstructed it and then built around it. After about 3 months of sending files back and forth, robbed music equipment, and various distractions, this is what finally emerged. Hope you enjoy!

A roll of thunder growls directly overhead, recorded with two Audio Technica 4022s mounted in a DIY closed-cell foam SASS to a Sound Devices 702 recorder, 20 January 2012 in Capertee Valley, NSW, Australia.  The storm veered away to the east fortunately, as it was soon to dump lots of hail.  Small cicadas are buzzing, a few birds are chirping, it was warm and humid and a wet summer generally.

We started this monster in November.. Then, mostly because of me, the progress has been very slow, adding and changing small pieces at different times, and trying to figure out how it could work as a whole and to how to achieve that special feel that I had in mind for this song. I think we came pretty close in the end.

It has been a true joy to collaborate with Jonathan and a dream to be able to work with one of the best voices and lyricists on SC.

Something I've wanted to do for a long time, and now it finally happened. I got sent a beautiful start of a track that I split up and pushed myself into the middle of. Basically Gareth is the opening and ending and I'm in between + I've added a few things. 
Very much fun to work on and a very pleasant collaboration experience. Hope you enjoy.

When I came up with the basic chords for this I knew there was only one person for the job. I called London and a few weeks later got the first vocal takes - then after some arrangement work and lots of sending files back and forth - this is what emerged.

Really happy to work with Pete who I think is a very special singer and lyricist.
