Long-time collaborators on the likes of Kompakt, Terminal M and Suara (to name a few), here we find Florian and Julian taking us on an emotional trip over two pristine, dreamy tracks that tap into the richest techno minerals. Gentle arpeggios, cathedral size synths and that powerful feeling of natural musical euphoria. Wassu will always hold a special mantle at the TOR imprint, as the man who inaugurated the label with his Andu EP. Since then, the New Yorker has turned heads over the last year with a string of enthralling releases on the likes of Anjunadeep, TRYBESof, and When We Dip XYZ. With each passing project, Wassu’s mastery of warm melodies and boastful basslines deepens. His latest offering, the Escape Alone EP, is some of his best work yet.

Hey everyone,

It’s me again. I’m sipping coffee and staring at this Mac’s calendar, suddenly realising it’s already been more than 4 months since the release of “Adamant”. I think thank-yous are way overdue so I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge everyone involved in the project as these have been a really amazing four months.

Enough nonsense and let’s back to business, or the purpose of this text: I (drumroll) proudly present the final 5 re-interpretations from some talented friends.

It’s an honour for me to have Francesco’s techno, David’s modular madness, Jake’s synthwork and Martin’s melodies all in one package, but being both fan and friend of everyone on board I’d be blatantly biased in describing this record’s contents.

So, since it’s 2014, why don’t we switch banalities, skip the “description" and “let the music do the talking” (ugh, did I really just write that?)

'Vintash is a blank page in the music industry - for now. Based in Cologne, Vintash is a musician through and through. He describes himself as “mentally full of music”, which makes sense with an upbringing in a musical family, sound design studies, and various adventures in DJ collectives. Vintash makes music that is instantly memorable and carries strong emotion and deep, hypnotic soundscapes. This is the first release by Vintash, but definitely not the last. Look out for this artist in the future!

Think back one second to overfilled clubs and crowded dancefloors. Imagine yourself right in front of the DJ booth, with huge, bass-pumping speakers on each side. An absolute banger comes on and the dancing crowd starts pulsating to the rhythm. The intensity is wild, everyone feels lifted to a different dimension, a different time. If it wasn’t for the unique situation we find ourselves in across the world, the brand new “Medici” by upcoming German artist Vintash could be that banger. “Medici” has a bass-entrenched backdrop and high-pitched synth that writhes throughout the track. Throughout the whole track, there’s an instantly memorable melody that lingers on even when the distorted synth takes over. At 03:40 in the track, we promise that you’re going to be missing collective raves so much it aches. “Medici” was made for the darkest clubs, the pulsing strobe light, the sweat from being in unison with the tracks blasting from the speaking, and the feeling of being together in joy-filled ecstasy over the sweet, sweet tunes. Today, you’ll just have to imagine being there, and with “Medici” in your ears, it’s almost as if you are.

Where “Medici” was made for a clubbing experience, “Yalu” is just for you. It’s the kind of music you put on that makes you walk faster and with a purpose. It’s the soundtrack of a rainy fall day, industrial landscapes, lonely train rides. It’s an epic build-up that keeps getting more intense every second. Lots of elements that seem to almost clash but instead come together in a powerful, almost angry cocktail. The Hungarian-based ITOM Records launched its activities at the beginning of 2012. Nortio, one half of the Moti Brothers and head of the Label began writing music in the beginning of 2000. At first he was inspired by Techno music but in 2007 his love for deep-house music grew stronger and he made the obvious shift in his musical direction. The Label's sound focuses on the deeper shades of House Music and Nortio along with the Label's management will mutually decide on what gets releases and published. It is certain, that the listeners and DJ's who are looking for high standard, sophisticated electronic music, will often glean ITOM Records' musical catalog.
