To do so I sought out a sense of balance when developing the mix, trying to find a careful harmony between the inspiriting and the meditative, a flow that shifts but never strays, and drawing from producers and labels whose music I consider both contemporary and timeless.

We are so thrilled to finally share this delicious mix recorded by the French/Polish DJ and producer ~ ina kacz. We met Ina last year in London during her visit and have immediately bonded over a few shared musical experiences, keeping in touch since. It feels so right to finally welcome her to the Introspective Electronics family. She recorded just over an hour of seamlessly flowing ambient textures weaved together with various shades of rhythm-driven experimental dance sounds for us  🤍

Ina’s music taste is refreshingly eclectic, yet she manages to keep her signature sound ~ combining deep atmospheres, breaks, tribalism and groove ~ well defined. A household name on her local Berlin scene, with DJ sets at Berghain and Tresor under her belt, Ina also tours around the globe, notably in Georgia, France, Portugal, or Colombia among other places. In 2022, she has released her first track ‘Sequoia’ as part of a compilation on the Colombian imprint ‘From A Lost Place’ 💫

This mix is the perfect example of challenging the frontiers between music for listening and dancing. Starting off patiently with droney ambient and glitchy downtempo, the mix picks up pace around its middle section to dive into heady, futuristic drum’n’bass weightlessness wrapped in soft, warm & fuzzy blankets of lush atmospherics. The collaboration between us and the Mostra festival gets a new chapter, and this one is quite special - the recording of the festival's closing set by incredibly talented Japanese artist Lynne. Throughout the festival, Mostra showcased carefully selected talent, emphasizing quality above all else. Lynne's DJ set at Mostra was a testament to her unparalleled talent and expertise. With a keen understanding of the festival's needs and the audience's energy, Lynne took us on a unique journey that left us in awe. And it wasn't an easy task for Lynne. She had to follow the exceptional 4-hour set by Patrick Russell, but she pushed the bar even higher, leaving a lasting impression that we still talk about three months later. 

As the fatigue of the four-day music marathon loomed over the crowd, she fearlessly embraced the challenge of delivering an unforgettable closing performance. Lynne's selection of powerful half-time drum&bass ignited a fiery energy within Castell Du Monjuic, transforming the atmosphere into a seething cauldron of sound. 

The recording of this set captures every electrifying moment, delivering an experience that rivals the memories we hold in our minds. Prepare to be swept away as Lynne showcases drum'n'bass 2.0, infusing it with her unique and awe-inspiring artistry.
