Drawing a coherent link between various influences, @geinst joins Never Late with Hiber Trace where his analog-driven productions expand and contract time and space. The clear consideration for detail combined with an essence of tight timing and drawn delays, sets the groundwork for this EP. The accompanying artwork reflects not only the music but keeps a connection to the human element, which is a common thread throughout his work. Stark rhythms take us on twists and turns with abundant drops of surprises throughout. One is only left asking: where will he take us now?

Beyond Layers arrives with a purpose we are but to discover. All there is to do is let oneself be guided by the soundscape that Gëinst creates. From the first moment we hear the intention behind every current, every beat, every silence. It envelopes us, introducing a profound space wherein which we can land and take off from, guiding us deliberately with finely tuned clicks, hums and hisses. Murmurs opens with a mélange of calmness and suspense. Building on the soft syncopated rhythms, a muted voice reminds us we are not alone. This nicely preempts Hiber Trace, the EP namesake emerging as a crisp track with a steadily evolving groove. Muted hi-hats, snares, and kicks are balanced with strong drumbeats that travel through the body, activating muscles to contract with the same frequency. Euphoria introduces yet deeper elements as though now passing through an ancestral forest. Organic sounds, resembling digeridoos and croaks like those of frogs on the forest floor, are accompanied by a surge carrying us to the next destination – Mugen, where we are greeted by a focused drum ensemble to be overtaken by stretches of lasers whispering echoes of spatial descents – until finishing as brusquely as it began. Still within the same realm, we experience the power of Labyrinth. This may be the most intricate track of the EP, summing all the previous ones into a final, powerful crescendo. Delicious drone drops preempt a soft closing allowing us to find a moment to return with a gentle landing. Exquisite.

"It's a Mediterranean blue spilling from my heart, filling me up. Cool, deep, fathomless - between light and dark." 

This is how poet Gainor Ventresco describes "the perfect blue" in one of their poems. While it's unlikely that Ventresco had any ties with Italian DJ and producer Luigi Tozzi, these words perfectly capture the sensation that Tozzi's music evokes. Connected to the Mediterranean and deeply passionate about the ocean, his "Deep Blue" series transports listeners to a peaceful dreamlike state. The vastness of the universe and our subconscious worlds are perceptible within its depths.
Tozzi's refined take on techno in his live sets and productions has gained him increasing attention over recent years. Not to forget his impeccable storytelling skills as a DJ (highly recommend the Acquario Immersioni Sets Pt. 1 & 2), specifically showing up in longer DJ sets where the light and the dark go hand in hand, as they do so in life. 
Luigi shared with us a Live Podcast featuring some unreleased material - this mix is enveloping and absorbing simultaneously.  It is in such a way, that one could feel getting pulled into a magical vortex.

On our wishlist for our mix and Artist of the Moment series for some time now, we connected with this highly analytical, extremely dedicated, genuine and kind artist from Rome.

I recorded this mix sitting on the carpet of my partner and I's new home, pulling out some old records and enjoying the comfort of our new living room which now also houses my custom green monitors. Sundays to me have a naturally relaxed and positive vibe and it's the same day that I throw my event 'Park Dub'. The music at Park Dub is generally a mixture of electronic dub tracks and more rootsy dub reggae but I usually tell the DJ's playing that 'anything with enough reverb and delay is fine', haha. I tried to capture the spirit of Park Dub in the mix.

Amsterdam’s Ratherlost crew has spent the past few years perfecting the art of the marathon rave. Their home base is Lofi, a cavernous warehouse where sound, light, and visuals fuse into long-haul journeys that stretch well past the 18-hour mark. But epic runtimes mean nothing without the right hands at the controls, and Ratherlost has proven it knows how to curate, pace, and execute like pros.

Lofi’s two-floor setup allows for shifting moods: daylight hours wander through deep, dubby techno, slowly morphing into faster, syncopated rhythms as night tightens its grip. Pacing is everything in a space like this. And when it comes to the craft of pacing, few do it better than Bas Dobbelaer.

Bas is one of our favorite DJs for a reason. He understands that a warm-up set is an architecture rather than just background noise. It shapes the room, sets the tone, and welcomes dancers into the story. The mix we’re thrilled to share today was recorded live at Ratherlost’s Easter Sunday session at Lofi, where Bas shared the bill with artists like Aaron J, Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi, Aurora Halal, DVS1, upsammy, Occa, Agonis, Dasha Rush, Seb H, and Oscar Mulero. Quite the roster.

In the face of that stacked lineup, Bas delivered a masterclass in restraint and elegance. His three-hour set unfolds like a novel, tracing dub techno’s DNA across the past two decades. The vibe is timeless, spacious, and beautifully measured, a perfect example of how to warm up a warehouse without blowing the doors off too soon.
This is precisely the kind of DJing we live for: subtle yet commanding, hypnotic yet full of life. Clear your next 180 minutes. Plug in. And get a little Ratherlost yourself.

All of us. As each year passes, I appreciate more and more the mental haven that has developed. A space to relax, a platform to create. Focusing on moods and sounds that we listen to recover and unwind. Deeply personal, and a sonic window into the soul, the variety of guest mixes, and emotions covers the spectrum. I am so humbled to be able to release each and every entry.

This September marks 6 years of Sundays. The musical journey continues, and evolves, so too does the visual. Simple, and abstract. Bridging the digital and analog realms, the art continues to change and match energy. A sine wave in all its glory, nothing less, nothing more. A comfort in its identity, a comfort in its simplicity.

The night had turned cold by the time Camu began, but inside La Cabaña, everything felt suspended: warm light, still bodies, a low hum stretching through wood and pine. People settled into corners, wrapped in layers, quieted by the vibration that marked the start. The music felt transmitted, its slow-moving drones drifting through the wooden walls and into the forest beyond. The sound rolled out like fog under moonlight, patient, opaque, its motion too subtle to measure. It was music to dissolve into.
Minutes became air. The cabin started to tremble. Camu’s sense of space was uncanny, each drone a line drawn in mist, each pause a small release of gravity. Later came the fragments: field recordings, faint acapellas, echoes of the forest replayed from another world. By then, the cabin no longer felt grounded. It was a stationary vessel, hovering somewhere between the trees and the stars, surrounded by invisible energy. Somewhere, just beyond the clearing, Pablo’s bass murmured like thunder in a parallel world. When silence finally returned, it wasn’t emptiness; it was the echo of what had passed through.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Camu

A veteran to the jungle and footwork scenes, Austrian based artist Simon Hafner aka Sun People has steadily grown a dedicated following through his string of strong releases on Exit Records, Defrostatica, Outlines, and Candy Mountain. Now reaching a new milestone in his musical career, Hafner is starting down his own path by launching a new label dedicated to his own productions and projects with like-minded artists. All Things Records starts off with a raucous bang as Hafner holds nothing back in his first album on the label titled Look Within.

Coming in a blistering 10 tracks, there is something for everyone to be found within. Expertly playing with a variety of inspirations and samples, the tracks ebb and flow but stay coherent. Through playful moments, and ambient, space filled interludes, the production is top tier, and the sound design equally so. A well picked, and compiled body of work that showcases the scope of what Sun People can do.

This Morning is the ending track of Look Within, and while last, certainly not least. The haunting disembodied voice lays the groundwork for a deep and dark percussion line that picks up after a breathy start. Energetic and seductive, the track entices you in and before you know it, you’re bouncing around without a care in the world.

This Morning, and the rest of ‘Look Within’ will be released both digitally and on vinyl via Bandcamp on the 17th of October.

Look Within

PREMIERE: Sun People - This Morning [All Things Records]

Hannover-based  platform Synergie has been a steady contributor to the techno scene for the past 5 years. Birthed as a label & party series, they later began hosting track premieres & launched a mix series called Syncast which has over 270 episodes. The platform has an emphasis on the rawer, faster, groovier side of things & they really have their finger on the pulse for what’s bubbling up underneath the surface in their corner of techno. 

Up next on their label is an EP from Tommaso Arcuri, a producer from Empoli, Italy, a town on the outskirts of Florence. The release features 6 high-energy rollers that fit like puzzle pieces into different moments throughout the night. ‘Veleno Per La Mente III’ has this crystalline ear candy sound that starts right at the very beginning of the track & repeats throughout as a rhythmic accent. That little sound immediately reminded me of something from a sci fi movie, akin to a Star Wars blaster or a door of an air lock slamming shut. It’s the real hook of the track & your ear never tires of it. It almost feels like you can reach out & grab it out of thin air. The more you listen, the more it draws you into a state of eyes-closed hypnosis.

PREMIERE: Tommaso Arcuri - Veleno Per La Mente III [Synergie]

The warm afterglow of a weekend of music. Smoke filled rooms and comforting tones, all shades of ambient and beyond. This is what I played for my set on Sunday, the final day at our annual barn gathering. Everyone melted into couches, flitting in and out of consciousness. As light turned to darkness ever so gently, we all took turns providing a sonic window into what the day of rest and recovery means.

Every year, Alfonso, the artistic director of Mostra, hides a few cards up his sleeve, and this time one of them was DjSport. Closing the Friday program at Fabra i Coats is never random, it’s a statement, and by the time her halftime pulse began rolling through the space, we all knew why she was there. The groove was elastic, full of tension that never broke until she decided it should. Then came the shift: precision turning into pressure, tempo climbing until Fabra felt like a steam room. Just when it seemed ready to tip into chaos, she had her “hold my beer” moment, controlled detonation, a sudden swerve into broken, bass-heavy terrain that felt like opening a window mid-storm. From there on, it was cruise control, the kind that hums with energy yet never loses composure.

Mauritius-born and now based in Barcelona, DjSport carries that balance of warmth and unpredictability wherever she plays. Her debut at Mostra was the kind that makes you trust Alfonso’s instincts even more, those mysterious names on the poster that end up defining the memory.

Sundays, for me—no matter what's planned or how beautiful—always carry an underlying sadness. A kind of hopeful melancholy. Sundays are when the medicinal, healing properties of music are at their most potent, and I find myself gravitating toward gentler, more emotional sounds to help calm a wandering mind.

OTON’s Alliance returns with 9-track album ‘Fiber Bundle’ from Parisian artist Solma. We highlighted the Belgian imprint & party series a few weeks ago with OTON’s own album & now OTON takes on the role of mastering engineer this time around. 

Solma has been bubbling within the vibrant French psychedelic scene for a couple of years. He launched his own label Virtual Forest Records with two friends in 2021 & kicked it off with an EP of his own. Since then he’s released on a number of other labels including Crescent London, Melifera sub-label Polën who we’ll be featuring in our Label Spotlight interview series soon, & Jan Swam’s Organic Signs, where he released his debut album ‘The Consciousness Of Plants’ at the start of this year. 

‘Fiber Bundle’ has this fierce, haunting atmosphere throughout the entirety of the release. The only beatless track on the album, ‘Skaub’ sets the tone for what’s to come & pulls you in right away, painting the picture of a cold & distant landscape. It evokes imagery of some kind of ice-covered otherworldly lifeform, part organic & part machine, taking deep breaths of a gassy alien atmosphere. 

Solma’s ‘Fiber Bundle’ will be available both digitally & on CD from November 7th on Alliance Records.

PREMIERE: Solma - Skaub [Alliance]

The idea of the breakbeat was born in the Bronx, but its evolution since then has been a transatlantic dialogue, a rhythmic exchange between continents that never really settled. In London, this language found its most elastic form, bending through jungle, drum & bass, and techno, mutating with each new generation of producers. The city remains a living organism, constantly reshaping itself through DJs, club nights, and collectives that resist repetition. Unknown Species, a London-based platform and event series that blends music and environmental awareness in support of endangered species, has carved out a corner for artists to explore that freedom. Its founder, Rado, better known as Naturalisten, is the musical mind behind this week’s edition of Delayed with.

This mix was recorded almost a year ago at Espacio Perpendicular in Madrid, during the first collaborative event between Unknown Species and the Perpen crew, alongside Delayed friends F-on, Fran Campos, Lynne, DB1, Felix K, Muted, Vrika, and Pillen. It’s a space where rhythm meets reflection, and Naturalisten rises fully to the occasion. The first half builds tension through shifting grooves and subtle rhythmic displacements, a controlled energy that feels alive and restless.

As the set unfolds, the edges blur. Synths stretch into stranger territories, textures become unmoored, and the intensity softens into something beautifully off-kilter, a reminder that unpredictability can be its own kind of balance. Naturalisten lets the music speak, and it speaks fluently, with groove, curiosity, and a quiet sense of purpose.

Delayed with... Naturalisten

Ehndo’s Exploration Zone marks a natural continuation of the path he began with Genesis on Penumbrum earlier this year, one where rhythm, tone, and patience meet. Released via the Brussels-based imprint Empyrean Wave, the label’s second release points toward a promising direction, an emerging platform attuned to subtle motion and refined design. The EP brings a quiet yet confident expansion of Ehndo’s palette, joined by a remix from Australian producer Al Dente.

Our premiere for today, “In Search,” embodies Ehndo’s understated craft. Its percussive liquid flow and clean sound design move with quiet logic, each sound in service of a slow-building momentum that never quite tips over. Rather than pushing forward, it circles gracefully, inviting attention through small detail and restraint. The result feels less like a peak-time statement and more like an opening chapter that defines the mood to come.

Exploration Zone is set for release on November 5.

PREMIERE: Ehndo - In Search Of [Empyrean Wave]

Morning sets at Perpendicular have a peculiar gravity. They pull you back from the cosmic edge of the night without quite letting you land. After 037’s slow ignition, Vinna Våldyr took that half-awake crowd and stretched time into something soft yet edgy, cinematic yet tactile. Pads hung like fog over the valley, while pianos and sax sequences drifted through, slightly detuned, as if remembering themselves in real time. The rhythm came and went in gentle tides, dub-laden and patient, never in a rush to declare where it was headed. It was music that trusted silence yet always hinted at motion beneath the surface.

We first entered Vinna’s world through his Simbiosis Festival recording from Seville, a set that felt like discovering a hidden portal in daylight. Hearing him at Perpendicular this year confirmed it: his control of energy is uncanny, like someone painting with both watercolor and graphite at once. The sun filtered through the trees, its pine-scented air wrapping the floor in calm. People swayed or lay still, hammocks swinging at the sides, and the line between listening and dreaming disappeared. It’s rare to find a DJ who can massage your neurons and still make them spark, but Vinna does both with ease.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Vinna Våldyr

Some collaborations feel orchestrated. This one felt inevitable. Reeko and Mostra share a certain DNA - innovative, uncompromising, with an appetite for risk. One’s a festival, the other a force of nature, but both operate outside the usual margins. So when Reeko stepped into the cavernous Pavelló Olímpic on the final day of Mostra 2025, the match didn’t need explaining. After three days of sonic overstimulation, the crowd could’ve easily slipped into post-peak autopilot. Instead, something sparked.

Reeko played with the confidence of someone who doesn’t need to raise his voice to be heard. He didn’t grab attention, instead he tuned the room to his frequency. No spectacle, just sustained pressure. The kind that doesn’t shout, but hums somewhere in your bones. From the first mix, he had total control, not just over tempo, but over tension, perception, direction. It wasn’t peak-time euphoria. It was something colder, sharper, more elemental.

What happened on that floor wasn’t mystical, and it wasn’t romantic. It was human circuitry, bodies moving like they’d been rewired. A dance floor fully switched on. In a festival stacked with standout sets, this one kept floating to the surface in post-Mostra conversations. We’re proud to share this recording. It was special. Now it’s permanent.

Delayed x Mostra: Reeko



Music travels faster than ever, yet the connections that shape it still depend on patience. Sense of the Substrate, the new release from our own Griff Fulton under his Aspetuck alias, feels like the result of that slow exchange. Out on Konstrukt, the Nijmegen label that has built its identity around subtle consistency, the kind of releases where artwork, sound, and intention all seem to breathe the same air. Aspetuck’s latest record fits naturally into that lineage. Following his standout LP on Oslated earlier this year, Griff returns with a five-track EP that combines warmth, precision, and patience into a sound that feels unmistakably his own.

The record moves through slower tempos and unforced grooves, where rhythm has room to stretch and melody can take its time to unfold. Our premiere, “Subterranean Rhizome,” sits right in that zone, a track that glows rather than burns. It opens with interlaced percussion and a gentle breakbeat that sets a calm propulsion, gradually joined by flickering chords that rise like light through shallow water. Every element feels hand-shaped, balanced between the tangible and the ethereal. By the time the main riff arrives, you’re already somewhere else entirely, in that rare headspace where the body listens and the mind moves.

Sense of the Substrate arrives November 21 on Konstrukt, available digitally and on vinyl. It’s another chapter in a story that values connection over noise and craft over speed, the kind of record that reminds you why physical formats, and the people behind them, still matter.

PREMIERE: Aspetuck - Subterranean Rhizome [Konstrukt]

After a series of podcasts in recent months, the new London-based imprint Ebbs & Flows presents its inaugural release: Owl’s Spectral Shadows. The record feels like an artist and a label meeting on the same wavelength, both drawn to subtle tension and to spaces where rhythm holds its breath. Owl has always had a way of turning minimal means into emotional weight, and this release extends that curiosity into something more cinematic, but never indulgent.

Our premiere, “Infinite Dusk,” is the shadow at the edge of that world. It moves with the patience of fog drifting through an empty dockyard - rhythm suspended in its own breath, melody folded into vapor. The halftime pulse anchors an atmosphere thick with suggestion: faint strings flicker like reflections on water, while metallic cries echo in the distance. It’s a track that lives in the moment before something happens, and lingers there just long enough to make you feel it might.

Infinite Dusk and the rest of the Spectral Shadows EP are coming out on November 27.

PREMIERE: Owl - Infinite Dusk [Ebbs & Flows]

There was a meme circling the internet at some point saying, “People who show you new music are important.” Connecting with Axymt, a Lyon-based DJ and music aficionado, feels exactly like that. It is like meeting someone who speaks your dialect of obsession, where recommending a track is almost a form of autobiography. His work with atmós sphaîra, Monochrome, and the Ouroboros crew carries the rare consistency of someone who pulls from many corners yet curates with a firm sense of direction. You can sense the collector’s instinct in the way he folds tribal percussion into dub-leaning atmospheres and in the way groove becomes a kind of compass, guiding the set without ever feeling decorative.

For this edition of Delayed with, he eases into a slow-moving techno ritual that feels deceptively simple on the surface. The BPMs sit low enough to let the body loosen and the mind wander, yet the pulse keeps sliding forward with a subtle undertow. This is the zone we jokingly call seaweed techno, flexible and buoyant, shaped by tiny currents rather than grand gestures. Axymt sidesteps the temptation of drama and focuses on micro-movements inside the percussion, letting small mutations carry the narrative. The mix can open a room gently or guide you through a late-night drift. Whether you catch it in passing or sink fully into its grain, the reward is the same: a gentle nudge that the right groove finds you, not the other way around.

With a full year behind us since our last release on Delayed’s own Never Late, we’re proud to welcome French artist Gëinst to the platform with his ‘Hiber Trace’ EP. We first discovered the music of Gëinst through mutual friends & upon that initial discovery, were immediately intrigued by his musical ecosystem. A prolific yet incredibly humble artist, he has had releases on labels such as Lowless with a superb split EP earlier this year with Simone Bauer, his Into The Valley EP on Souleiman & Foreign Material’s label Norite, a string of releases with Sub Accent’s label Accents, appearances on Emmanuel’s ARTS & a few recent compilation inclusions on Lithuanian platform Area 127 & Ina Kacz’s Aneelhi Rec. His sound has grown & evolved significantly over the years, as he remains in constant motion, continuously refining his process in the studio. 

We were lucky enough to meet Gëinst in person for the first time earlier this year, at our favorite Mostra Festival back in April. We shared some special times together in the cavernous Vall d’Hebron Olympic Pavilion, a place we’re so eager to return to again next year, in only a few months. It’s a pleasure to welcome Gëinst into our growing family, a fairly new but already dear friend of ours because of those powerful dancefloor experiences. It brings my mind back to that spark that led to the creation of Never Late, an inspired moment on a Brooklyn dancefloor a few years back. 

The ‘Hiber Trace’ EP, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, feels perfectly paired with the crisp winter mornings we have ahead of us - cold & sharp, beautiful & pristine, fierce & unforgiving, like shards of ice moving through a body of water. The title track grabs your attention right away, every sound thoughtfully distorted & processed subtly with effects, a steady rhythm you find your head moving back & forth to no matter how many times you listen to it. The tension builds ever so slowly & then that beautiful, enticing snare appears & stays with you for the entire journey. As soon as those melodic sequences come in, you’re hooked & the track cruises at altitude for just over 9 minutes. 

For our 4th release on Never Late, Gëinst presents his 6-track ‘Hiber Trace’ EP, released digitally on December 5th.

Sundays are for... [Nov/25]

Unrushed and enjoying life slowly in Berlin since 2016. U N R U S H is an experiment in sound and ambience, created to facilitate moments where you can find calm in your mind, when the world can encourage you to fast forward, blink and miss some of the beauty. Atmosphere through audio can help us reduce stress, stimulate ideas and creativity or just relax and soak in what’s around us. The label and podcast series is applauded by artists across corners of the electronic music scene, and their contributions are an insight to the music we all need, when we aren’t living life in the fast lane. Where we can find inner peace, clarity and embrace reflection.

Unrush maintains such a nice, measured pace that they continue to release on tape, a taste of the 80s. This physical medium captures a point in time, yet still holds a vital place today and in the future. This December sees their 6th overall release and their third on the tape format with 7 tracks: The Unrush Tapes 03 with Chie Otomi / Daniel[i] & Lukas Freisem.

In Aachen, Germany, Daniel[i] and Lukas Freisem have long been musical comrades, but this release on Unrush is their first official collaboration, in addition to being Lukas Freisem’s debut release. Daniel[i] is a name we love to see on any lineup or upcoming release, thanks to his work on Mojuba, Muzan Editions, and his own platform, Whispering Signals. Over the weekend, my music partner, Jake (Passaat), and I opened with his track 'En Trance' at a Pintai event in London — another example of the ambient brilliance in Daniel[i]'s locker, warming the room exactly the way we intended. I first discovered Lukas Freisem's talent at La Nature Festival in 2024, where his all-vinyl morning set—delivered with impeccable class, elegance, and a warm smile and sway — absolutely blew me away, top vibe. Finding out he was a mind and digger behind the operations at Tam Tam Records in Aachen solidified it: an incredible DJ, and now I can now say he is also an incredible producer, too.

Crackles, distortion. It feels timeless. Their sound flirts with rhythm, it wants to get going, but instead, it remains patient, a solid foundation. Above this foundation, layers of ebb and flow. These ebbs and flows come as long, inhaled pauses, hazy chords, and a gentle expansion and retraction, like soft breathing. It’s on Unrush, you get the picture, it’s gentle and facilitates the perfect focus for any time of day.

PREMIERE: Daniel[i] & Lukas Freisem - Too many Winds [Unrush]

Close your eyes & imagine a scene unfolding in front of you - the air is cold & crisp, your breath barely visible in the darkness as you exhale, the warm air in your lungs condensing into clouds of fog as it leaves your body. Everything is quiet & the trees sit still around you, all of the sounds gently muffled, other than a faint warm rumble of sub frequencies, somewhere in the distance. You can’t quite pinpoint it but you follow the sound as your feet softly crunch down on frozen earth. As you get closer, you suddenly notice a mysteriously intriguing concrete structure start to appear in the forest. Lights glowing from windows partly shrouded in freshly fallen snow, resembling an abandoned bunker, eerie but peaceful. The music invites you towards it, so you open the door & step in. Immediately you’re enveloped by warm, humid air & hit with a full spectrum of sound, as if the opening of the door was the opening of a low pass filter. 

For this week’s Delayed with edition, we welcome Berlin-based artist Valentin Ginies with a special recording from this bunker in the woods. You may be familiar with Valentin already, as the man behind 11001 Records, or through the festival he organizes outside of Berlin, Third Eye Festival. Last December, he was lucky enough to play an all night long set at this mysterious venue, after the first big snowstorm of the year, with 1 meter of snow on the ground. Aptly named Concrete, the venue is as discreet as it gets, an intimate, minimalist space with no signage on the outside, tucked away in the mountains of a small village in the Japanese Alps called Hakuba, just outside the city of Nagano in Japan. The recording consists of the first 2 hours of his set, where he slowly & steadily drew people into the space, setting the tone for what was to come.

Delayed with... Valentin Ginies

Sunday mornings have always felt a sense of happiness and peace since I was a child, perhaps due to the short time I didn't have to be in the hustle and bustle of life. Spending more time on the production work I enjoy during the day is something I find even more enjoyable at my age. Evenings are spent casually walking through the city, ending my walk somewhere in the woods where I can greet the sunset. Ending my Sundays with a sunset is the last thing I enjoy most, even though it's the last thing I do. Looking directly at the sun with my naked eye during these hours is refreshing.

My motivation for preparing the set is primarily for myself. Listening to ambient sets before bed always helps me fall asleep and drift into a deep sleep. I know I'm not the only one who enjoys this, and offering the same pleasure from my own perspective to other listeners brings me joy; it's a pleasure to be able to help them. Listening to sets like this throughout the day always reminds me of a reset. I always feel like we need this; sometimes I experience being in the moment without thinking through sets like this. I hope I can offer the same effect to my dear listeners.

Congratulations are in store as the Italian imprint Pregnant Void marks their 20th release via a phenomenal LP from the Berlin based, Toxido Mask. With prior contributions on Semantica, Art Bei Ton, and Futurepast; the Tresor resident’s latest offering titled ‘Spirit Waters’ is a welcome addition and her first, furthering the label's commitment to contemporary music with an experimental edge. Coming in at eight tracks, six originals and two remixes by Ina Kacz, and Nadia Struiwigh respectively, the release maintains a transformative and introspective theme throughout as each track unfurls slowly and intentionally without pressure. Providing those moments of solitude and space to experience the surrounding sounds.

Falling in the middle of the release, Spirit Guide is the beginning of the exhale to the inhale that is the first half of Spirit Waters. Listening from cover to cover, there’s a subtle uplifting feeling in the first three tracks, the melodies ethereal, all channeling a sense of anticipation. Spirit Guide rises softly from the depths, its synths working overtime as they seemingly engulf and wash over the listener through the whole spectrum of frequencies. From the warmth of the low end to the spacey highs and glittering accents and tribalistic drum patterns, each element intertwines and works seamlessly with each other.

Spirit Waters will be released on the 5th of December.

Spirit Waters

PREMIERE: Toxido Mask - Spirit Guide [Pregnant Void]

A stranger to none in our corner of the musical world, Qeone has quickly become one of those must listen labels for each release that comes by our proverbial desks. Fantastic sound design, jazz-like tempos and improvisation mean molds are constantly being broken and rebuilt in the artists’ imagination. This focus on experimentation and fresh ears has laid the groundwork for a hotbed of creativity. A label is very much a reflection of those that run it, to the surprise of none Polygonia aka Lindsey Wang heads the imprint, and I can’t think of a better example of this concept. Simply her production chops, curatorial skills, work ethic, and attention to detail are all constantly on display with this project. Not even to mention the artwork, which she also creates for each release.

For Qeone’s sixth and final release of 2025, Lindsey looks to Mexico City via Berlin based Viiaan and her forthcoming EP titled ‘Taiko’. Japanese for drum, the four tracker is a raucous affair, with bright percussion leading the way through syncopated tempos and an upbeat energetic atmosphere that gets the body moving.

Rounding out the EP is Azkhar, a four minute wild ride through esoteric melodies and what seems like a molding of genres. Is it half-time, is it breaks, is it tribal bass, who knows. The results speak for themselves as heavy bass elements rumble under as the label states, ‘rhythmical chopped reese drones and flowing tribal grooves.’

Azkhar and the remainder of the Taiko release will be out on the 4th of December.

PREMIERE: Viiaan - Azkhar [Qeone]

There are festivals you attend and festivals that rearrange something small but permanent inside you. Perpendicular belongs to the latter. After collaborating in the past from afar, 2025 was the first time we actually stepped into the pine-covered clearing that so many trusted friends had mythologized. The stories turned out to be accurate. Perpen is a wavelength, a temporary pocket of reality where strangers treat each other like long-lost cousins and music arrives without the burden of proving anything.

Medi became the custodian of the final night, a responsibility whispered about long before we reached the festival grounds. We met him in Valencia days earlier, sharing coffees and paellas, and the quiet confidence in his presence suggested the weight of experience rather than ego. His record bag ended up in our car on the drive to the woods, and resisting the urge to peek at those vinyls felt like an oath. Friends offered no clues about what he might play, which only deepened the suspense. Some artists close a floor. Medi was preparing to close a narrative.

When the cartridges were swapped, and the stylus touched down, fatigue evaporated like mist. Techno and electro braided, pulled along by those razor-sharp snares that sliced through the smoke like a metronome for the collective psyche. Each snap felt like a reminder that the night still had business to finish. Medi’s vinyl work was absurdly fluid, so intuitive it seemed the records were cueing themselves. Broken patterns teased hallucinations, basslines carried the tired bodies into borrowed energy. Then The Cure’s Forest appeared like a knowing smile from the universe, reminding us of where we were and how lucky we felt to be there. The dancefloor dissolved into laughter, hugs, disbelief, and eventually a gentle crawl toward La Cabaña for one final ambient delirium.

What lingers about this mix isn’t just the track selection or the execution, but the emotional climate it documents. You can hear the relief of a weekend well-lived, the gentle ache of goodbye, the kind of affection that only forms on a dancefloor surrounded by trees and dust and shared emotions. Perpen 2025 quietly rewired our sense of what a festival can feel like. Until the next pilgrimage, Medi’s recording remains the ember reminding us it wasn’t a dream.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Medi

In times of excess, there is constant pressure to cull the noise. A pressure to find those impactful releases that one really resonates with or causes some form of internal reaction. Less is more in this world, and the Russian imprint, Shurale embodies this. Since its creation in 2022, leading off with an inaugural compilation featuring Toki Fuko, Dycide, Altinbas, and A.G., the imprint has released once per year. Embodying the oft-repeated phrase, quality over quantity. 

Following a stellar Doltz release in 2024, they hand the reigns to o.utlier as he provides a master class in rhythms and textures under the guise of his forthcoming ‘Numina’ ep. Four tracks, each with a distinct personality and flow. Tensions rise and fall throughout, as there is never a stale moment, the musical elements constantly evolving and giving movement.

Impulse to Obey is the proverbial shot across the bow, a taste of what is to come. Heavy synth leads set the tone, they pop and crackle around a steady bass line. There’s a certain weight to these elements that brings the track up a level, and ratchets the tension higher and higher as the track progresses.

Numina will be released on the 12th of December.

PREMIERE: o.utlier - Impulse to Obey [Shurale]

Javi’s contribution to La Mostra’s biennial unfolded inside the Convent de Sant Agustí like a quiet act of urban archaeology. Tilect’s pairing of his sound design with Marta Lofi’s live visuals turned the cloister into a resonant chamber where Ciutat Vella’s streets reappeared as spectral traces. He approached the theme in the only way he knows: wander, listen, record, return to a quiet corner, and let the fragments dictate the form. The resulting piece bends the city into a dream logic of its own, where echoes slip into harmony and environmental debris reshapes itself into something strangely elegant.

There is a particular magic in Javi’s work, a way of treating everyday noise like soft clay. Years of diving into granular processes, pedals, and the raw geometry of sound have given him a language that feels both intimate and slightly extraterrestrial. The first time we heard him, at Mostra nearly four years ago, he and Alex as .apart made the city feel alive in a way that bordered on surreal, like Barcelona’s neighborhoods were whispering their stories directly into the PA. This new recording carries that same spark but with a deeper sense of curiosity. Close your eyes and you might imagine an alien craft touching down in Ciutat Vella and trying to negotiate with unbothered locals who answer confusion with a casual sax riff. The tension is playful rather than dramatic, a shimmering frequency that settles the body rather than startling it. These thirty-five minutes show an artist who keeps refining how memory becomes texture and how place becomes pulse. It’s a pure joy to include this one in the series, a quiet demonstration of how listening can tilt your sense of place in unexpected ways.

SIJIN is an artist from Seoul whose music is rooted in presence & storytelling. There is a spiritual intention behind the work that he shares, the music grounding him in specific moments from the past, enabling him to let go & remain present. The beauty of letting go of these musical creations is that others can then attach their own memories & experiences to the music. This is SIJIN’s intention with his Khövsgöl EP - 2 tracks that materialized from a collection of field recordings close to his heart, gathered from the natural soundscapes of the northernmost province of Mongolia, Khövsgöl. The tracks to him serve as memories of a distinct time & place, a time capsule of moments spent amongst the raw beauty of this relatively untouched part of the world. 

A prolific DJ who has performed at venues such as KHIDI in Tbilisi & KGRn in Tokyo, SIJIN has recently had his focus on self-releasing his own music. In addition to being a DJ & producer, SIJIN curates a platform called SYNTHASIA which showcases underground electronic music in Asia. The SYNTHASIA Open-Air took place a few months ago, a 24-hour journey at a temple a few hours outside of Seoul, with sets from 14 artists including Scøpe, Cobahn, SIJIN himself & many more. 

Khövsgöl includes 3 re-imaginations from Archypness, EINOX & Minjoon, artists SIJIN invited to remold these stark & beautiful field recordings into their own visions. The first of the EP, Khövsgöl part1, which we’re premiering today, is a 170 bpm track made up of field recordings manipulated in Ableton & delicately interspersed amongst steady percussion. You can feel the peace & open space of that vast landscape, reflected in drones & the sounds of birds & flowing water. There is this beautiful full-circle resolution to it, anchored around a soft bell-sounding sample that remains ever so gently in the background throughout the whole track, ending in the same place that it began. 

Khövsgöl will be released on December 24th

Indian label & collective Qilla is closing out a busy 2025 with their final release of the year ‘Morung’, a 4-track EP that marks the return of Hyderabad-based producer Midnight Traffic. The release exemplifies the symbiotic relationship that can develop between artist & label. It’s a beautiful full circle moment, as Qilla was the home of Midnight Traffic’s debut EP back in 2015. Over the course of the past decade, he has made regular appearances on Qilla. His fifth release there, ‘Morung’ is a representation of 10 years of creativity & growth, compressed into 4 tracks  with his immersive, psychedelic take on techno. It’s music for fast, light-footed movement on an energized dancefloor. 

In Northeastern India, a 'morung’ is largely a symbolic structure in modern times but represents a place of community to attain important life skills at a young age in India’s past. Their influence has faded as society continues to advance rapidly into the future, but the symbolism is felt here as Midnight Traffic draws a parallel to his own growth as an artist over years. The abstract shape of a morung can be seen on the artwork, which immediately brings to mind some of the triangular DJ booths & stages at our favorite festivals around the world. 

One of four talented remixers on the EP, French producer Aerae has confidently molded & reshaped the title track into her own signature style of heady downtempo / drum & bass. Her remix is a pressure cooker, buzzing with energy & warmth as it builds tension & slowly releases it throughout the course of the track’s entirety. 

Midnight Traffic’s ‘Morung’ EP including remixes from Aerae, Zara, Audrey Danza & Andy Garvey will be released digitally on December 22nd.

PREMIERE: Midnight Traffic - Morung (Aerae Remix) [Qilla Records]

In a moment where festivals blur into a constant scroll of names and posters, Ouroboros has always felt anchored to something more elemental. Tucked into the Cantal wilderness, it operates like a temporary ecosystem, built on trust between artists, crews, and the land itself. Toé sits at the center of that orbit. As a DJ, producer, and co-architect of the festival’s identity, her presence carries a quiet authority. The same sensibility runs through Soma Animae, her personal platform that reads like a field journal, and through Chimaera, the Eyes Wide Open radio show she curates for LYL. Spend a little time with her work and the through-line becomes clear. Nature is not an aesthetic reference point here. It is the operating system.

That context matters when listening back to her set from this year’s Ouroboros, now part of our Delayed with series. Peak hour on paper, but the usual signals are intentionally bypassed. Instead of release-driven drama, Toé builds a flexible structure where tension is constantly adjusted, stretched, and rebalanced. Acid pressure appears and dissolves, depth gives way to propulsion, grooves are allowed to settle before being nudged elsewhere. Ouroboros’ connection to its surroundings has always shaped how sound functions there, and Toé navigates that dynamic instinctively. The forest is not a backdrop but a participant, absorbing and reflecting the pulse coming from the sound system. For those two hours, the exchange holds steady, neither side dominating. What you hear in this set is that equilibrium, electronic music meeting the physical world without either one blinking first.

Another year comes to a close. Albeit not the easiest of them, there were still good moments to reflect back upon and cherish. So much great music, mixes, and times spent abroad and here in New York with friends afar. I’m now looking forward to some family time as they’ll be arriving soon for a week-long stay in the big city. I wish everyone joyful celebrations and I’ll see you all in the new year.

Sundays are for... [Dec/25]

Digging does not always mean discovery in the sense of the unknown. Sometimes it is about noticing someone operating with clarity inside a language you already understand. I first heard Paul Thomas via a mix he recorded earlier this year for the Chimaera radio show. It was immediately clear that this was someone fluent in experimental and ambient forms, comfortable with negative space, pacing, and restraint. The hook was instant. Not long after, we crossed paths in Spain through shared nights on the dancefloor and on both sides of a DJ booth. His set at this year’s Perpendicular Festival inside La Cabaña was one of the standouts, marked by a calm command of atmosphere and momentum that allowed the room to settle into its own rhythm.

Under the Horizontal alias, Paul Thomas operates as a multidisciplinary artist with a deep interest in the crooked edges of electronic music. As a core member of the Ouroboros crew, he has become part of the more inward-facing currents of the scene. Horizontal represents a fresh pulse, bringing a lightness of touch to music that often leans too heavily on concept. His contribution to "Delayed with" closes our 2025 series. It unfolds with patience, but not passivity. Small shifts accumulate. The mood is tense yet restorative. Unpredictability plays a central role here, not as a gimmick, but as a contract of trust between listener and DJ. This is not background music. Details flicker at the edges, atmospheres thicken, and time stretches in subtle ways that reward full attention. After spending countless hours this year immersed in experimental and ambient listening across many contexts, it felt right to close out 2025 in the same way. Horizontal offers a final chapter that does not conclude so much as open a door, pointing toward other rooms, other journeys, still waiting.

When we talk about it, it makes you want to smile, but at the same time your eyes can fill with tears. And, speaking about saudade, I have a lot. Sunday is a saudade called Minas Gerais. Of the dreams I dreamed, of others that I didn't even allow myself to dream. In any corner of the world, saudade follows me, but especially in autumn. This sensation of things lost, past and future, grips me in the present. Sometimes it flows through my fingers, run over by the rush of everyday life. Saudade is what proves to us that we love, that we lived moments that were worthwhile, and that we have stories that deserve to be remembered. It's what connects us with what we were and who we were. Sunday is a day to remember everything you had, have and could have had. It's a time to be grateful, despite anything else.
To me, this mix conveys a feeling not only of nostalgia but also the alchemy of saudade into a deep moment of rest and introspection. Watch the sun's rays come in through the window and smell the lush birth of a new day. I hope this selection brings warmth and spurs energy for your day.

WhoMadeWho, the genre-bending trio based out of Copenhagen are at it again. With their sixth album just announced called, ‘Through The Walls’, and the lead single ‘Dynasty’ now available to stream, one should expect to hear a lot more from this dynamic band in the coming months. To complement Dynasty’s release, remixing duties have been extended to luminaries such as Denis Horvat, Roosevelt and our standout pick of the pack, Jimi Jules.
