The Sardinia based artist Ludovica Frauu created the fourth journey of our Herbarium mix series. It's all about a very fresh sounding groovy journey, an exquisit selection of gems, we are very honoured to feature this wonderful trip. Its story reveals a wide spectrum of moods which are mixed together in a beautiful way. You will stumble upon diverse textures, polyrhythmic drums patterns and interesting harmonies.

To connect the mood of the mix to the herbal concept of the series, the artist chose the plant Capparis spinosa (caper), which she is particularly fond of. Her grandparents had a large plant in their garden. They used to pick its fruit and then process it. The plant is very hardy and grows even in the city, as it is able to penetrate its roots into the interstices of stones. In fact it is considered a rebel plant, because it decides how and where to grow. The flower is beautiful and elegant and is an unharvested fruit, bloomed.
The first part of the set reminds of the flower, the second of the plant itself.

This Live set was recorded for SubRadio’s anniversary and prepared specifically for the occasion using as set up a Roland Tr-808, Eurorack modular system and various recordings from the Plants Army Revolver.
What a strong experience we experienced, we couldn't have asked for a better streaming to celebrate our two years. Setting of the flight we have enjoyed an out of this world Live set by the hand of the Plants Army Revolver on board countless modular connections, drum machines (that beautiful 808) and their characteristic sound synthesis, always deep, always analog and accompanied in complete harmony by the visual constructions of the great Ruben Castillo. 
Broken and paused rhythms, deep atmospheres of an organic character without equal, enveloping textures in constant expansion and endless hypnotic constructions acting on various points of the body and mind. A true harmonic, mental and esoteric journey to float peacefully around the cosmos through a carefully crafted progression of beautiful soundscapes.

Imagine drifting through a moonlit forest dappled with fireflies and the low hum of cicadas. That's the vibe – lulling, dreamy, and alive with subtle magic. Lush atmospheres unfurl like velvet curtains.
Four-on-the-floor rhythms pulse like a steady heartbeat, then melt into broken beats that pirouette like autumn leaves. Familiar names like Shoal and DJ Balduin shimmer like constellations while hidden gems flicker like fireflies and dance with melodies laden with unspoken intrigue.

Vardae is a project with the ambition of breaking away from the genre barrier, to explore new sounds territory around the love of psychedelic music. His productions and performances result in a percussive and hypnotic sound, a combination of tribal rhythms, repetitive leads and atmospheric textures which navigates from dub to tribe, passing through techno and drum’n’bass. Vardae defends a universe where immersion and experience prevail over codes with the idea of offering a journey to each of its appearances.

For this occasion the French alchemist stirs a potent mix - pounding grooves and rolling percussions collide with intricate synths to create a primal energy that transcends genres. Techno and drum & bass merge in a hypnotic dance, taking you on an unforgettable ride that will move your soul and ignite your feet. Vardae delivers a heart-pumping rendezvous of beloved genres that will leave you breathless.

Vardae will perform his exclusive live set at Foso stage of Castell de Montjuïc on Sunday, March 31.

Delayed x Mostra: Vardae

In the latest edition of our Delayed with… series, we feature Ksenia Kamikaza, the founder of Under Fest and Platz Für Tanz label, a key figure in Latvia’s underground music scene. We first crossed paths with Ksenia a few years back in Barcelona, which she now calls home. As a DJ and producer, her deep knowledge of electronic music comes through in every set, blending together a wide range of styles and influences.

For this mix, Ksenia drew inspiration from the late David Lynch, exploring themes of life and death. Much like Mulholland Drive, where Lynch blurs the lines between dreams and reality, Ksenia’s mix pulls you into familiar territory before pulling the rug out from under you. She opens with Röyksopp’s beautifully haunting vocal track - We Remain Hidden / Consolation, creating a sense of calm and ease. But that comfort is fleeting. The beats start to fracture, melodies twist, and suddenly you find yourself swept into an unpredictable flow of shifting moods and subtle misdirection.

This isn’t a straightforward journey from one sound to the next—it’s more like a Möbius strip, looping back on itself in unexpected ways. Just when you think you’ve settled into a groove, the rhythm shifts, leaving you wondering if the high point you hit was the climax—or just a prelude to something else entirely. Ksenia’s mix is layered, unpredictable, and keeps you guessing until the very end.
