Landing on Delsin with a highly developed strain of emotionally inquisitive electro, Reedale Rise (@reedalerise) presents a new four-track EP which builds on his growing reputation for beautifully rendered headphone escapism. Since first appearing in 2015, Liverpool-based Simon Keat has released on such respected outlets as Frustrated Funk and 20:20 Vision, while last year he released This Beautiful Life, an LP for Assemble Music. From the twinkling melodic mystery of 'Littoral Zone' to the playful synth flourishes of 'Globular', 'Driftwood's plush, expressive layered lines to 'Artemia's deep-diving introspection, this latest release confirms Keat as a leader in the field of contemporary electro, delivering tracks with pristine production but crucially placing feeling as the priority ahead of the considerable technical finesse.

Today’s premiere is the title track from “Dream Phases”, Davis Smith’s forthcoming EP on Chicago-based Leisure Records. Smith’s discography ranges from deep house via their DJ Heaven alias, to ambient and downtempo as Sorceress, and their next release marks their deep delve into electro, impressively channeling old school Detroit emotional energy throughout all four tracks, under their new Ephemeral alias.  

Dream Phases opens with a Drexciyan pad that coils symbiotically with euphoric keys throughout the track, taking us on a five minute daze inducing excursion. The track serves as the perfect opener to the rest of the EP, which rises in energy with “Forever Memory” and “Full Moon”, before “Azure” serves as the perfect melancholic closer to this beautiful EP.

We look forward to hearing Smith’s next sonic adventure with their stunning range of sounds and what they explore next.

We created this label to experiment. At its core, Lost in Translation aims to be a platform for artists to explore new approaches to musical storytelling.

It is with this in mind that we are excited to announce the first volume of our Short Stories series, coming out on May 23rd. The brief provided to the artists was simple: tell a story. With a line-up of versatile producers and no limits on the runtime of their chapters, the result is a four-track anthology of introspective atmospheres.

Curated by label head @nocturne_rhc, the inaugural entry to the series welcomes long-time inspirations @dj_theef, @lbhonne and @hame-compathy to the Lost in Translation catalogue.

Indigo Aera is rebooting its ÆX limited whitelabel series after 3 years of silence. This new release aex016 marks the start of a new run of various artist ep’s with the familiar recipe: dancefloor oriented dj tools drawing inspiration from the more classic side of techno.

The release includes 2 new names to the label: the A1 track from Malin Genie is a true homage to the percussive tribal techno era in the ‘90s. The A2 from Anna Kost, is a strong electro / house hybrid which builds on a strong flowing breakbeat. A3 is pure melodic Detroit styled dub, from Ivano Tetelepta, who simply never disappoints and always delivers the highest standard. The final two “last but not least” tracks are solo productions from labelheads Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff.
