Let the music marathon begins! The list of 20 mixes we enjoyed the most during the chilly February is here.  Super talented DJs from around the world will take you for mind bending journeys. From ambient to eclectic mix over to trippy techno and chuggy break beat and house, there’s something for any mood you’re in.

Best New Mixes from February 2019

We are very happy to share the latest addition to our mix series, coming from Manamana. As a DJ duo consisting of Leipzig based, Map.ache (Jan Barich) and Sevensol (Alex Neuschnee), Manamana have been long time residents at Nachtdigital Festival and toured as part of their showcases at the likes of De School, Corsica Studios and About Blank.

They also run the label, KANN with close friend Bender and celebrated it's 10th birthday with club nights across Europe, a showcase at Nachtdigital Flex and through their Family Horror x Good Times.

This mix is a recording from Sweat Lodge 12 x Blank at Berlin's amazing ://about blank. Alex and Jan were also kind enough to answer some of our questions, enjoy the read below!

Kingdoms Potlatch 006- Emil Abramyan

We caught up with the talented, Supreems and requested he stepped inside our illusive yet established figment of the sonisphere, the FH mix machine. Upon his fair request for more details of the the wherabouts and safety of this excursion we then told him an hour or so mix, emailed across would suffice. The above is what we received, via digital channels, and share with you, via digital channels. Apart from the obvious gratification we get from such a succinct, tech focussed interaction, our gratification levels reached overdrive when we downloaded the accompanying file.

Over at Four Heads HQ we like mixes which accomplish a lot, we like to drift from tune to tune, we like to feel challenged by different tones and textures. Sure, we think variety is key – who doesn’t? What is life without change? Who knows. Please appreciate the breadth of selection and don’t feel embarrassed if your mind is lulled into not recognising where one genre ends and begins. Special mention to the honorary Kano appearance, we didn’t know East London grime mixes with Jazz, but then who would, apart from the man behind the mixtape control booth.

Konduku (a.k.a. Ruben Üvez) burst onto the scene in 2018 with his debut album Kıran, named after the picturesque hill in Turkey's Cappadocia under which his father is buried. That man and that place are in many ways the inspiration behind this unique artist's arresting blending of atmospheric melodica and polyrhythmic drive, grounded in equal measure upon the mystifying beauty of his ancestral home and the thrilling electronic music scene of the Netherlands in which he was raised.

His Patterns of Perception 46 perfectly reflects these dual complementary forces, at once arcane and palpable. And perhaps the third vital foundation upon which this mix's incandescent energy stands is the process by which it was created: two turntables, one take.

A stormy voyage through cosmic electronica, chugging breakbeat and spacey dub techno. Los Angeles based DJ and producer Cooper Saver, co-owner of the legendary Far Away series, showcases his ever evolving palette of sounds over an intergalactic filled hour.

With upcoming output patiently sitting amongst Hivern Discs, ESP Institute, Permanent Vacation and Prins Thomas' Internasjonal, due to be unveiled later this year, we caught up with Cooper to hear the latest on the studio developments and his ongoing Far Away affair.

Huntleys & Palmers - 20th February 2019

@nadiastruiwigh is a DJ and electronic producer from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Sitting somewhere between Biosphere and Boards of Canada, Struiwigh’s refined downtempo electronica takes you on a journey full of synthesized soundscapes that flirt with ambient techno. After releasing "Lenticular" in 2017 on "Central Processing Unit" and getting constant praise for her work from Resident Advisor, Nadia released her first full length album  in 2018 which was also her first cooperation with Denovali called "WHRRu" (Where are you).

"WHRRu" combines the warm electronics and dynamic sound of Nadia's previous works with a new film-composing orientated cinematic sound and approach. The result is a ten tracks album with electronic listening music for quiet nights and long journeys.

Nadia says: '"WHHRu" is written with emotions and memories from my childhood. The use of acoustic instruments and synthesizers gave me the opportunity to settle a past/ future concept for all the chapters. Going back to those moments helped me to close a book and to find a safe place within myself. My own story has just started.'

After establishing itself over the years as a steady source of left-field techno, ambient & experimental electronic music, Delayed has evolved into a multi-faceted platform consisting of weekly premieres, DJ mixes, live recordings, interviews, editorials & launched its own record label, @never-late, in 2023. Regularly collaborating with artists, record labels, collectives, annual festivals & niche gatherings, Delayed provides glimpses into a variety of rich ecosystems & sub cultures around the world.
