August may often be a quieter month in the music industry, with many on vacation and the summer festival season in full swing. Still, this year brought some truly remarkable offerings for those who kept their ears tuned. 
From Katatonic Silentio's exploration of experimental dub and deep techno on her "Axis of Light" EP to RDS's impressive debut album "E-mutations," the month was anything but quiet. Italian producer, Pianeti Sintetici's organic polyrhythms on Qeone and Huerco S's deep house under his Loidis moniker both, provided fresh takes on familiar genres. Reeko's intricate drum & bass on "Umrah" marked a strong return to Samurai Music, while London-based Oscilla Sound introduced their inaugural compilation, "Liminal," featuring works from eight talented producers. 
Aedi Records celebrated another full moon with "Infra," a powerful four-track deep techno compilation, while Inhmost on Tonight’s Dream Records explored the beauty of ambient and lush breaks. Markus Guentner, joined by fellow producers, crafted a cinematic and drone-infused album titled "Kontrapunkt" on A Strangely Isolated Place. Finally, Sungate's release of Eddie Hale's "Endless Pursuit" EP blurred the lines between techno and electro, rounding out August's "not so slow" month.

It is with great pleasure that we present ‚Bioma,‘ the upcoming EP from Pianeti Sintetici. A deep dive into organic yet groovy sounds rooted in the realms of psychedelic techno and grey area. The release perfectly shows how different style influences combined create a new forward thinking vibe while the heat of dance keeps arising within the listener‘s body.
Opening with ‚Steppa Plains,‘ the EP sets a moody, mysterious tone, set by a crawling synthetic pendulum swinging over a pulsating beat. ‚Dry Marsh‘ ramps up the energy, featuring driving rhythms and textured trippy elements. In ‚Vulcano Island,‘ the essence of tribal influences melds with vibrant sound design. The finale, ‚Gloomy Tundra,‘ wraps up the narrative with fast and broken bass patterns, which lead deep into otherworldy headspaces. 
‚Bioma‘ is a testament to Pianeti Sintetici‘s mastery of sound design, drumwork and arrangement arts, offering a unique and immersive listening experience.

Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission. 
'This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.'

Mariachiara Troianiello, the force behind Katatonic Silentio, continues her exploration of spatial and sound design, slicing various forms of dub while following her instincts and storytelling through each work.

Troianiello's music and live sets are known to be meditative, with each transition subliminally serving a purpose. As 'Axis Of Light' delves into five pieces for this EP, one can experience the drops and transitions connecting, gradually uncovering hidden meanings.

RDS presents his debut album E-mutations. Following his debut EP "RDS Theme" (De Lichting), subsequent "RDS Suite" (Kalahari Oyster Cult) and most recently “Force of Nature” (Spectral Bounce). “E-mutations”, is a culmination of his distinct approach.

The album comprises eight playful recordings ranging from introspective to heartwarming electronic music. “E-mutations” highlights patience and creativity, produced with a simple 64mb E-mu Workstation (1997). By avoiding the distractions of modern production, RDS focuses on the creative process itself, letting the music evolve naturally.

‘E-mutations’ releases both physically on a 100 limited compact disk, as well as in the digisphere.

Brighton-based Tonight's Dream Records prepare to release 'Breaks And Dreams' LP from UK electronic veteran Simon Huxtable, better known as Inhmost...Our pick for the premiere is the closing track 'Voyagers From Elsewhere'. Moonscape echoes and stretched-out soundscapes kick start the track, followed by slo-mo drum rhythms and soothing acid basslines reminiscent of the whirlwind dreamscapes of interplanetary movements.

Infra was created during a creative challenge in March. The then-over 150 members of Aedi were invited to create a track without using cymbals and to avoid similar sounds, inspired by some of the pioneers of deep techno.

The music submissions, album titles and artworks were compiled in an anonymous list and voted for collectively.
