Grab a trago from the kitchen, take a seat on the plastic covered couch, and enter the musical journey of DJ Bembona’s childhood.  As an Afro-Latina (Puertoriqueña y Panameña), she aims to teach her diverse audience more about her culture, and to bring her Latino community one step closer to embracing their blackness. 

As homage to her viejos (parents), DJ Bembona is releasing La Sala as a celebration of their 27th anniversary and as a wrap-up of National Hispanic Heritage Month. With a unique blending of salsa dura, motown, latin house, merengue, funk and more, we’ll get a taste of DJ Bembona’s musical influences and cultural upbringing, all in the setting of her home of Brooklyn, NY.
