For the past decade, Mad Decent has been invading your ears with fresh sounds. With humble beginnings in Diplo’s Philadelphia studio, Mad Decent’s unwavering mission is to highlight underground, genre-blurring sounds. Mad Decent tops iTunes, Beatport and Shazam charts worldwide with #1 Dance tracks and albums with releases from artists like Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Grandtheft, Party Favor, NGHTMRE and Yellow Claw. Mad Decent is also home to Good Enuff, a launchpad for artists breaking the norm; notable releases include Bauuer’s “Harlem Shake” and DJ Snake’s “Bird Machine.” As an extension of the Mad Decent sound, Mad Decent Block Party was established in 2006 and now spans across North America and India.

        LeRoy Summers better known as Reezun was born and raised in the Upper EastSide of New York City in an area called "Spanish Harlem" is where he expanded his mind toward computers before music hit the digital scene he began learning the elements of web design and multiple coding languages for creating computer programs and utilizing it to what interested him. Making his way up the educational ladder (Earning his Associates in Occupational Studies. Then later changing his field of study to earning a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management) he seen how computers were changing form from brands to the designs. By kepting up-to-date with everything electronic he was amazed how a simple device would do so much. So as the technology grew so did the forms of media which he carried with him. Ranging from Walkmans, to Compact Disc Players, to Mini Disc Players, and finally to MP3 Players. He was never without some sort of music playing in his headphones as he made his way from one destination to the other.

       But his introduction to music came around the late 80s, early 90s as his transition from Washington Projects to Wagner Projects came and incidentally it is where music played an intricate part of his upbringing leaving him curious and excited (Like a kid with a brand new toy) the first time getting an ear full of the way the musical arrangements were being laid out along with the emcees struggles spoken in rhyme. Although very much different from what is known today of what was considered "Old School" or "The Classics", Reezun chose to put his hand in and sport his idea while staying true to the aspect of those that had played their part in the musical genre, we know today as Hip-Hop.

       He states, "Being the kid from the 80s doens't mean that your old school it means that you see and learn different ways to better yourself by applying different creative juices that blend together to create that awesome concoction of enriched tones." His method of production is keeping an ear to the streets with his self-taught hip-hop style of those boop bap hardcore beats but not being limited to what is trending to the ear.

       He further adds, "There are many hip-hop producers today with their own style but it is interesting how the beginning of what starts out as a series of kick drums, snares, and hi-hats can lead to a plethora of well mixed music where any one with the meanest lyrics can rip."

       Holding on to that very same love for hip-hop is his inspiration for creating his style of music. Whether he is in his hometown of Spanish Harlem or on the road within or outside of the United States he continues to do what he does best.

Justin Blau, AKA 3LAU, is a rarity in the music industry: A successful recording artist, DJ, and producer whose main goal is not fame, but helping others.
