Mayan Warrior is the result of a collaborative project that has united artists, craftsmen, photographers, designers, technologists, architects and musicians from Mexico City and Northern California. 

The project’s original intent was to present to the world the incredible ascent of contemporary Mexican electronic music while paying respect to the deep and ancient sources from which that visual and auditory culture had grown.


Both light and sound are curated by some of the world’s most prominent artists to transport participants to the very origins of the culture – and to a new understanding of contemporary electronic expression.

AND YES: Mayan Warrior is driven from Mexico City to the playa – and back – each year. It's a labor of love and we're glad so many people enjoy it.

Contemporary R&B artist J’amar Lyriq (Jordan Walker) was born and raised in Long Beach, California to a musical family. An energetic and enthusiastic as a child, he sang with his older sister and brother to the encouragement of his mother, while his father introduced him to the Hip-Hop sounds of DPG and Mack 10. 

While working in Los Angeles J’amar developed a sound heavily influenced by Michael Jackson, Musiq Soulchild and Chris Brown. And writes songs that reflects his state of mind, all while bringing a positive and fun sound to his growing following.

LA-based rock cover band specializing in classic rock, reggae and modern alt-rock. 

Raised on the South Side of Chicago, Vic rose to public awareness as a member of the eclectic hip-hop band Kids These Days and founder of the Chicago collective SAVEMONEY alongside Chance The Rapper and other local upstarts Joey Purp and Peter CottonTale. His solo debut mixtape INNANETAPE dropped in 2013, igniting immediate accolades (including a spot on the XXL Freshman cover in 2014), and a fortuitous introduction to Jay Z that led to a record deal with Roc Nation. Mensa went on to help Kanye West pen his esoteric song “Wolves” from The Life of Pablo, drop three critically acclaimed EPs (2016’s There’s A Lot Going On, 2018’s Hooligans, and 2020’s V TAPE) and his debut full length The Autobiography (2017), as well as furthering social causes in his hometown through his nonprofit SAVEMONEYSAVELIFE. In both music and his social activism, Vic challenges the American system responsible for a history of overcriminalization, racial injustice, and issues that affect the lives of people in underserved communities, while showcasing profound levels of consciousness and self-reflection.

Producer, Writer, and 2 time Grammy Award Winning Trombonist with experience in music education, live performance & studio session production. J.P. is 34 years old and was born and raised in Chicago, IL. J.P.’s main instrument consist of Trombone and he also plays Keys, Bass Guitar, Tuba, Euphonium, and can sing. J.P. has performed all around the world and has performed with amazing acts such as: Bette Midler, Frank Ocean, Chance The Rapper, Kids These Days, Demi Lovato, Solange, many and others. J.P. recently won his first Grammy from being apart of Chance The Rapper’s “Coloring Book” (which won "Best Rap Album” at the 2017 Grammy Awards). J.P. is also apart of the Pi Beta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America INC. (Hampton University).
