Goodness Gracious

Born and raised in North Florida before heading up I-75, Nick spent his youth recording songs for his friends documenting their bubbling coming of age realizations. Amid the summer heat, SEC Saturdays, and flat land under Spanish moss, something was happening to a kid who couldn’t find any reason not to go full speed.

In 2015, as his music began to be circulated via blogs and websites, he released his most beloved song (still to this day) Lobster Calamari as just a careless high schooler. This song went on to amass 800,000 streams (and counting) and still provides the backbone for his growing catalogue of stories through the years. Now, a decade later, Nick enters into his own as an established artist, writer, and performer. 

In 2016, Nick Chase released his first EP, Helmet Safety, with his best friend Zay under the name YPF (Young Peach Fuzz, later just Peach). It was a time capsule of their teenage years—bike rides, basketball, and DIY recordings in childhood bedrooms. That spring, they shot the video for Careless in St. Augustine, FL. The response was immediate, and Nick soon began releasing solo music under his full name, carrying with him the creative DNA of his group days.

In 2017, while moving between school and home, Nick gained traction locally through original songs, remixes, and live performances. A standout show hosted by Always True marked his first real taste of performing—a moment that sparked his drive to capture youth’s fleeting intensity through music.

In 2018, the video for Drugs! pulled fans deeper into his world: a space of contradictions, honesty, and simplicity. Around this time, he began the Semesterly trilogy, a three-part project that wrapped in 2019 and became essential to his identity as a songwriter rooted in Florida. As Georgia entered the picture, his perspective—and sound—began to shift.

2020 brought a bold turn with the No Bachelor (Freestyle) video, revealing a confident, genre-fluid artist unafraid to experiment. That same year, he moved to Atlanta, stepping into a broader creative landscape. In 2021, he released the postcards EP, followed by the conceptual single Bengal in 2022, expanding his visual storytelling and lyrical depth.

A brief move to Los Angeles later that year brought fresh inspiration. But it was Atlanta that truly felt like home. He returned, dropped Postcards 2, and began performing across the city with collaborator zl!ster — cementing a new era of artistic maturity and vision.

His forthcoming album, Being Able, will be released independently in 2026.
