"In all honesty, dreaming for me is usually a pretty mundane affair.  Pedestrian activities like going to work or heading down to the local shop for a pint of milk are regular features in my dreams.  Sometimes there might be some short-lived conflict involved, maybe an argument with a friend or a frustrating encounter with a photocopier.  Seriously, my dreams are dull. When I was a bit younger I used to have regular, intense nightmares, usually brought on through stress.  But even then these nightmares were deeply rooted in reality.  I've never had fantastical, bizarre dreams.  Only banal repetition of my everyday life."

Slumber Session: Perfume Advert

Lillerne returns from its summer hiatus with a wonderfully recorded and mixed live set from Ben Bondy’s crash830 moniker. Recorded at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn in December of 2021, this set has all the trappings of Bondy’s project of “warped tape indie rock sketches,” but presented in a remarkably more hifi and lush manner for a live performance. Deeply catchy pop moments buried under layers of chorusy guitar and simple drum patterns. Detouring at times into blissed out atmospherics, “floor” always returns to the catchy hook and an undeniable breakbeat. “rast,” which comes with maybe the biggest of both—is up there for song of the year in my mind. Timelessly beautiful stuff yet again from one of my favorites doing it right now. Edition of 100 professionally duplicated cassettes.

New INDEX:Records transmission "Lamella Pressed" comes courtesy of Texan vibist Gi Gi. Trodding his own path of introspective, nu-age-infused ambient scapes and trip-hop-laced downtempo divagations, Gi Gi eases us in a distinctively soothing headspace. A self-driven, immersive audio bubble engineering a polychromatic mix of organic field-recording, exotic dub shades, lushly textured envelopes and smooth loungey jazz accents.

Here's A1 from the record – “The Lower”, a steady-churning combo of retro-stepping UK dynamics, 90s-schooled atmospheric dub and low-slung, LA beat-style swagger.
