We've got another fine addition to the Explorations Mix series, this time from the endlessly enthusiastic supporter of underground bass music @itswilljb.

Firing out mixes at a frankly terrifying rate, his smooth, downtempo mix for the @pollination-uk series caught our attention. He's on top form for his mix here, pulling together a wide array of dark, glitchy percussive heat in a way that feels fresh and foreboding, yet never oppressive.

Constantly flying the flag for the @more-cowbell crew, he comes correct with a selection of tunes from around the globe and from some of the best labels about. Showing a deep knowledge and passion for various sounds, this shows why he's one to watch!

Explorations Mix #15 - Bingle Beats

Bingle Beats takes the 5th instalment of our mix series journeying through modern UK techno, broken beat, and bass. 

Bingle has a keen ear for percussive and bass driven tunes, along with more experimental and minimal cuts. He’s been building a strong radio reputation for himself around Bristol recently with his Loft Sessions Radio show residency, showcased on both 1020 and Longthrow radio, and a very recent Noods appearance alongside Jurango. You can catch him playing  all over the UK, including at the new Bristol festival, Fields of Fantasy.

We’re very excited to have him involved in the mix series and bring us an hour of top shelf UK techno.

"I go by the name Bingle Beats and have been DJing for about 7 years. I started out mixing purely dubstep, but across the last year or so I've been branching out to experimenting with other genres and sounds. Regardless of what I play, I try to walk the line between experimental and dancefloor functionality.

Before lockdown I tended to spend my weekend nights dancing in small, dingy venues; so over the last few weeks that's probably what I've found myself missing the most. Going into this mix I tried to recreate the kinda set you could expect to hear powering a shoobz in these dark basements. The whole mix was recorded on vinyl and leans heavily into more UK styles of techno where there's a lot of emphasis on groove and heavy bass."
