Professor Galacticus and Captain Frictus, accompanied by a horde of Ziguychoulaïs, come back from their interstitial experimentation laboratory with a debunking active substance: Vitamyte B12
Vitamyte B12 is the result of three years of work, research and various investigations, which synthesize through this fourth release the multiple influences explored lately by the musical android Cosmyte.

A music that borrows as much from the classical codes of the ancestral psychedelic music of Goa, from its acidic melodic lines very typical of the machines used by Professor Galacticus; as from the more modern influences of downtempo psybass and drums/bass whose groove sometimes approaches hip-hop; and is characterised by the explorations of the acoustic instruments of Captain Frictus such as the Handpans which have a central place in the compositions of the group.

This album is a great place for collaborations. In addition to the eternal and historic Bichinia on flute and Divanovic on vocals, there are two Argentine artists (Fran The Lobster and Agustin Moroni) and two artists from the Hadra Alter Visions label (Lakay and Yoy Project). These collaborations reflect the values of the Cosmyte project, between explorations of new musical regions and cultures and the weaving of close links within the label for family collaborations with the same musical influence.
The result is a rich album, which offers a certain stage of maturity for the group, with a diversity of influences, the very essence of the project, while asserting a guiding line and an artistic identity that is increasingly clean.

Meditation

Set joué de 2h30 à 4h à la fête Subdivision organisée par le collectif Sub.Conscience et le Chill-In à la Basse-Division à Rennes le 11 novembre 2024. Une progression entre dark-minimale et dark-progressive, entre un chant féministe chilien et un acab-mess total.

Ce set a été pensé et construit pour faire exister (et purger) ma colère à travers la musique que j'aime, pour faire exister la politique au sein de cultures et sous-cultures musicales qui s'en sont trop éloignées. 

Pourtant...

Pourtant la techno est historiquement et dans son essence une musique contestataire et revendicative. Elle est lieu de catharsis, là où les colères peuvent s'exprimer et se purger. Lieu de déconnexion, où l'oubli de soi et du monde est salvateur. Mais jusqu'où ?

Si la plus grande force du capitalisme est de tout absorber y compris ce qui se place contre lui, alors il a aussi absorbé le monde de la fête et ses capacités subversives. Refaire le lien entre la musique et la politique est une nécessité. Sans annuler le fun, sans annuler l'abandon, sans annuler la catharsis mais au contraire, s'en servir pour retrouver notre capacité d'action. Purger nos colères et nos frustrations pour libérer des espaces de réflexion collective sains, au moins un peu. Et puis s'organiser, créer la solidarité, penser l'autonomie et l'émancipation, questionner les oppressions systémiques qui nous forgent, inventer autre chose.

Bio :
"Itzik is an independent artist, born in Eastern France to a music-loving father who introduced him to various styles such as Soul, Blues, Rock'n'Roll, Folk, Punk, Ska, and Reggae. He began playing guitar at the age of 9, quickly immersing himself in the world of reggae/dub throughout his adolescence. The desire to create his own music grew steadily.

Around the age of 18, he became captivated by a genre he had previously overlooked : electronic music, particularly Techno, in all its forms and variations. Gradually, after attending various festivals and rave parties, he developed a profound sensitivity to the universe of Trance music.

Simultaneously, his older brother (also a skilled guitarist) guided him in his first steps with a software that would profoundly alter his perception of music and production : Ableton Live. From that moment on, Itzik was re-born. This was followed by long hours of production and learning. The growing desire to create his own music had finally been unleashed and expressed.

For over 10 years now, he has been producing music according to his own inspiration, never truly wishing to confine himself to one particular style, yet maintaining a widely recognizable sonic identity. His productions range from Downtempo, Folk, Reggae/Dub, Techno, Acid, Progressive Trance or Psytrance even a blend of everything that inspires him.

On stage, Itzik plays live. Accompanied by his drum machine and controllers, his compositions range from Techno to Acid and Progressive Trance, sometimes in a dark and deep atmosphere, but often in a joyful and groovy style, always with a recognizable signature. His sets are prepared, but leave room for improvisation, which makes each performance unique."
