UNDERTALE: Alternate OST

Not much to say for this one. It was fun experimenting with the composition.

001 - Once Upon A Time

Inspired mostly by Earthbound's Main Menu theme.

002 - Start Menu

After getting used to make so much of intense battle music, it becomes REALLY hard to make "happy" sounding music. Agan, not a lot to say for this one, enjoy!

003 - Your Best Friend

For this one, while I wanted to keep some of the nostalgic feeling of the original, I went for something more melancholic for the second half. One of my favourite themes to make!

004 - Fallen Down

I'm not sure if this one's as effective as the original, but I had a lot of fun composing it, gave me a chance to try out new stuff.

005 - Ruins

Ironically, the "Uwa!!" tracks have honestly been some of the hardest to make for me, despite being arguably some of the simplest songs in the OST. I walso wanted to try messing with the tempo to give it a more "nostalgic" feel.

006 - Uwa!! So Temperate♫

This one is another one of the tracks that went through like 3 versions 'cause I was never happy with the results.

007 - Anticipation

Yeah... this took way longer that it should've.

008 - Unnecessary Tension

I tried to go for something more intense and battle-like for this one. Not that the original wasn't, but I wanted something that felt a little more epic, if that makes sense.

009 - Enemy Approaching

The beta version of this track was something much more EDM-like, but I thought it wouldn't fith either Napstablook or the fight overall, so I decided for something more Jazz-like.

010 - Ghost Fight

011 - Determination

That offkey chord is completely intentional, just in case. If you know the context behind the original song, then this one will make sense... sort of.

012 - Home

013 - Home (Music Box)

At first I was worried that this was too fast-paced, but as the theme developed I started to like it more and more, to the point it's one of my favorites so far. Hope you like it as much!

014 - Heartache

I tried a different approach for this one, and instead of going for something that sounded lazy, I tried to make it sound like the theme of a careless prankster. Then I deleted instruments to make it sound lazy because I didn't like how intense it was sounding.

015 - sans.

tfw the thumbnail takes you longer to make than the actual song.
So this one was pretty fun to make. I wanted to do a mix of "cool and goofy". Also wanted to play around with FM instrumentation.

016 - Nyeh Heh Heh!

Is it weird that i kinda feel nostalgic over a song that I made myself?

017 - Snowy

This one's curious because originally it was intended to be the shop theme, as you can tell from the probably obvious "Hip Shop" inspiration. However I decided it didn't fit as the shop theme (or anywhere else in the OST really) and decided to modify it and reuse it for this. Hope you like it.

018 - Uwa!! So Holiday♫

I went for something more fast-paced as i was inspired by 'Battle Against an Unsettling Opponent' from Earthbound.

019 - Dogbass

So lately I've been having help from https://soundcloud.com/eyeless-dash as a consultor for some tracks, and he suggested a darker and more "scary" tone for this one, inspired by the Jaws theme. I thought it was fitting seeing the mysterious aura from this area, so, yeah.
