House Is A Feeling
Deep-Melodic-Organic Storyteller

Born in Minnesota, raised in Elkhart, Indiana ("Michiana"), and having migrated from the burbs of Chicago to Tennessee, Alabama, and now San Antonio, Texas, Eric Woodiwiss aka Empathic, makes and DJs a sound that reflects this transitory life. Drawing from a multitude of influences--his mother's taste in 60's and 70's rock, his early enthusiasm for alt rock and industrial dance music, and his later foray into deeper underground electronic sounds, a fascination with ambient soundscapes and noise, these sound inspirations somehow crystallizing into a deep-seated kinship with the energy and mood behind modern techno.  Empathic muses the throbbing and hypnotic tribal tendencies of techno. His sound is deep, unsentimental, tightroping between the visceral and intellectual. Over the past decade, he has DJ'd around the U.S. (both as Empathic, and as DJ Woody) and was a driving force behind the budding techno scene in Tennessee. His debut release in 2010 on Konstructure reflected his varied tastes and diverse sound, but his new releases showcase a sound more driving and focused.
