i wrote cup of tea a few months back when i felt like i was failing every interaction i had with anyone. it was a few months after i'd moved to nashville, and as i was starting to establish some real friendships, i constantly felt like i was backtracking. everyone continued to treat me with kindness and eagerness, but i was my own worst critic.

this is one of those songs that serves as a stream of consciousness. i really wasn't a fan of it when i wrote it and i think even now that this song might not be for everyone. but then again, maybe i'm criticizing myself more than anyone else will. 

i take the metaphor really far but all of the food references can work for thanksgiving- i love a theme ;) 

also this upload is being completed at two in the morning on a weekday before i go to spend thanksgiving with family so if it's incoherent, sorry, that's two weeks in a row of late-night edits whoops
