"Bella ciao" ("Goodbye beautiful") is an Italian folk song that was adopted as an anthem of the anti-fascist resistance. It was used by the Italian partisans between 1943 and 1945 during the Italian Resistance. [...] "Bella ciao" is used worldwide as an anti-fascist hymn of freedom and resistance. The song has much older origins though in the hardships of the mondina women, the paddy field workers in the late 19th century who sang it as a protest against harsh working conditions in the paddy fields in North Italy.

Куча любимого старья. Я записал его с любовью, напившись в хламинушку прямо с утра. Прям нахуярился, достал железяки и записал. С видом на рисовые поля Бали. Проснулся в 7:00 и тут же приложился к холодному пивку, а когда оно закончилось, дохлебал Лизино красное сухое. 

Конечно же я никогда не стану богатым и знаменитым только благодаря музыке. Но это мой творческий выхлоп. Нет, даже не так, творческие выхлопы из моего организма исходят постоянно, но этот контролируемый! Это именно те самые звуки, которые я считаю охуенными. И они в том самом порядке, в котором я хочу. Это моя музыка.

Taken from Thomas William Hill's upcoming album 'Grains of Space'

The album started life as a series of minimal loops, recorded using a viola da gamba – a stringed instrument most popular in the Renaissance and Baroque eras – and a loop pedal. Using the negative space within each loop as the primary drive for composing, Thomas began a process of ‘joining the dots'.

“I began to see these loops - and recorded music in general - as a kind of fixed perspective that could be exploited. In isolation, a single layer may be no more than one or two notes punctuating four bars of silence, but when laid over multiple variations on that theme, disparate notes start to dance with each other and new connections take form, like constellations or deconstructed sentences.”
