DAVID PHOENIX is the alias of Hungarian DJ & Producer David Janecska, an artist whose career within electronic music spans two decades and a multitude of genres. In 2003, David began to make his first forays into music production, experimenting with a variety of styles that drew influence from the blistering sounds of breakbeat and techno that were popular at the time. From here, he followed his love of broken beat rhythms to the Drum & Bass scene, quickly becoming an avid collector of the genre’s musical history and developing an exacting ear for the qualities that make for a unique and impactful record while doing so.
Beginning in 2017, David redoubled his pursuit of music production. In doing so, he drew on his formative influence of techno, combined it with the mindbending sound design of neuro & psy, and distilled these elements down to their most minimal forms. The results speak for themselves, with David’s productions presenting sleek, steady, and driving grooves perfectly produced for the dancefloor. In continuing on this new path, he began to DJ under his DAVID PHOENIX alias in 2019 and released his debut EP “Cybercrime” on Dense Audio in 2020. Fast forward three years and DAVID PHOENIX has become one of the fastest-growing names in the minimal techno world with numerous releases on many of the genre’s most respected labels, including Music4Aliens, Subios, Techgnosis Records, and more. DAVID PHOENIX’s releases repeatedly chart amongst Beatport’s “Top 100” most popular tracks, and have carried him to stages worldwide from his native Hungary to Mexico, India, Saudi Arabia, and beyond. In 2023, DAVID PHOENIX has capitalized on these successes with the launch of his VISION SERPENT imprint, a record label that stands out with its unique concept and delivers quality minimal and psytech releases. Wie lange legst du schon auf?
Seit 4 Jahren

Wie war dein Weg bisher?
Ich durfte in den letzten 4 Jahren auf meinem Weg , viele Erfahrungen machen, gute sowie auch die weniger Guten, aber es braucht eben beides , um als Künstler zu wachsen und gehören zu jedem Lernprozess dazu. Ich selbst bin wohl mein größter Kritiker, fällt es mir selber oft unglaublich schwer mich mit meiner eigenen Leistung zufriedenzustellen, ein Punkt an dem ich noch etwas arbeiten muss. Mir auch mal auf die Schulter klopfen zu können und stolz darauf zu sei, was ich der kurzen Zeit schon erreichen konnte. Das ich schon viele meiner kleinen großen Träume erfüllen konnte, dafür bin ich unfassbar dankbar! 
Nicht zuletzt durch die Unterstützung von so vielen tollen Menschen, die ich durch die gemeinsame Leidenschaft zur Musik in den letzten Jahren kennenlernen durfte. Der Spagat zwischen Fulltime-Job, alleinerziehender Mutter und DJ ist oft schwer und Kräfte zehrend und gleichzeitig so beflügelnd, weil es mir die Möglichkeit bietet immer wieder über mich selbst hinauszuwachsen und ich freue mich auf alles was noch kommt.

Was ist dir an einem Safespace wichtig?
Urteilsfrei, verständnisvoll und jedem die Möglichkeit bieten sollen, sich frei entfalten zu können, immer mit dem nötigen Respekt seinen Mitmenschen gegenüber. Gerade in der Szene spielen sich in diesem Raum oft so viele emotionale Momente und Gespräche ab, deshalb spielt Vertrauen und das Gefühl von Sicherheit, dabei eine so wahnsinnig wichtige Rolle. Oft vertrauen sich Menschen genau in diesem Rahmen, gegenseitig ihre größten Sorgen und Geheimnisse an, obwohl sie sich gerade erst kennengelernt haben, aber eben gerade deswegen weil sie genau in diesem Moment das Gefühl haben, gehört und nicht verurteilt zu werden. 

Möchtest du gerne der Welt noch was sagen oder mitgeben?
Seid verständnisvoll und nachsichtig zueinander, jeder hat sein Päckchen zu tragen und man weiß nie was jeder Einzelne gerade für eine Last auf seinen Schultern zu tragen hat.

Both have been hanging out in techno clubs of the scene for years.
Fascinated and driven by the music and its diversity,
the two quickly realized that they belong behind the decks themselves.

As members of the bavarian techno label Sick'N'Raw, they have 
already played at many events, including various festivals
such as Freiluft Festival or Farniente Festival.

The kind of music they play is not easy to describe,
because its a mix of different styles.
But its definitely dark, minimalistic and energetic techno.

As a member of the Schwerelos collective, he is not only active as a DJ but also involved in event organization. The collective’s events are known for their elaborate light and sound concepts, offering a unique experience for the electronic music scene.

 In addition to his performances, Max Muth is the curator of the Somebodies.Child podcast series on SoundCloud, where he regularly presents new mixes. Through this platform, he works to create a space for various artists and enrich the scene with fresh musical impulses.
