British award-winning classical and jazz composer Isabelle Ryder is an unusual creative voice, bringing to bear her experience as an earth scientist on her honest and compelling music. A sensitive soul most at home in music and nature, Isabelle has a deep urge to re-imagine through music the sights and sounds that she was privileged to witness around the world. ​​

Welcome to my Soundcloud Page. I am a songwriter based in St Helens, a town in the Northwest of the UK.
You will find songs in a singer-songwriterly vein, written and recorded by me, taking in a range of musical genres,  alt/indie rock songs recorded by The (Now Legendary) Maybees in the 1990s, some classical sounding music by The Lucem Symphonia, as well as banging EDM/electronic tunes by Casaubon and a few mixes of a collaboration with Bentcousin,. Unknown Unknown is another alias I have used for one release and Firenze Anemones is a new project. Most recently, I have collaborated with Massachusetts composer Betsy Breitborde on The Ghosts of Christmas Past.
Whether it's plainly a demo or a painstakingly mastered recording, I hope you enjoy what you hear. 2023 - For the past few months I've been working with Public Resource, a California based non-profit to release an extensive collection of older music for free use. In addition to audio, we'll be releasing the music as MIDI and musicxml. Last week we started posting a new featured piece every week on the Public Resource Soundcloud page (@PublicResource). Follow there, or look for frequent reposts here. It'll include classical music, pop music before 1927, ragtime, folk songs, and more. The main collection will be at the Internet Archive, and will be called the "Internet Jukebox". I'll post more about it as it grows.

Liverpool-born Rachael Jean Harris has carved a highly individual sound, blurring the lines between folk, jazz and indie, drawing from a love of adventurous writers such as PJ Harvey, Esperanza Spalding and Kate Bush and allowing a love of poetry and literature to shine in her thoughtful, evocative lyrics.  The vast majority of her songs have fallen into rich themes surrounding the lives of people on the raw edges of existence - women in conflict zones, men in long term confinement; whilst her more recent work takes on distinctly more personal themes as she discovers how journeys through grief, past relationships and new freedoms find solace and reverberation within the natural world.

I've been making music for around 16 years now but because of the wonderfully generous community that is SC, I have learned so much in a short time. I look forward to learning even more by collaborating. 
I suppose my strengths are in lyric-writing and singing. I feel fortunate to have been able to work with some stunning compositions by some very talented SCers.
