What can one say about one of the greatest, best-selling records of all time?  Well we here at the Palaver are never at a loss for words.  In part 1 of a two-part set on The Dark Side of the Moon the group discusses the background and recording process and make it all the way through side one.  Our close examination of this album, which seemed so familiar, provided us with so many surprises.  The depths of the beauty of this album astounds.

Born in Uruguay, South America, Pepe is part of a new generation of musicians bent on breaking geographical, spiritual and musical boundaries through a deep study and understanding of traditional forms both Eastern and Western. Having lived, studied, and performed in South America, USA, Europe, the Asian subcontinent, Japan and Indonesia, Pepe has a wide cross-cultural versatility and has been called “the embodiment of World Music”. He plays percussion, winds and strings from his collection of more than three hundred instruments from around the world. He is especially focused on Afro Latin drumming traditions and Japanese Shakuhachi flute, as well as exploring Sound Healing. His spiritual quest encompasses extensive experience with the Gurdjieff system, Sufism, Taoism, Yoga and Buddhism, including studies in India with the Dalai Lama.
In the course of his twenty year career in Canada he has been nominated for countless awards as a performer, composer and producer, including winning the 2009 Jessie Award for Theater Musical Composition.
Pepe is presently residing in Slovakia, touring intensively throughout Europe, and teaching meditation and Tantra.
