Don't Hurt

On Feb. 9, 2006, StoryCorps came to San Diego and asked the local PBS affiliate, KPBS, for interesting candidates to interview and record as part of their ongoing story-telling project. I worked at KPBS at the time and ecstatically nominated one of the best story-tellers I've ever known, an amazing activist and my friend Ramon "Chukny" Sanchez.

This is his full-length interview from that day. He touches on a lot of topics from his experience growing up as a Chicano in the Southwest. Also, the short web-cartoon "Facundo the Great" was adapted from this interview (storycorps.org/animation/facundo-the-great).
