Bedroom Song

Over the course of 2 weeks,  I sat with over 50 individuals in my hometown of Lincoln, NE and recorded the sound of each person breathing as we sat across from each other in a quiet space.  The Idea was to create a collaborative sound collage with many of the beautiful and creative people in my life in Lincoln.  Throughout the process of recording, unexpected sounds from either the environments we were in or unique sounds from each individual's body was also captured.  This project has shown me how important and powerful creative collaboration is.  We are surrounded by so many creative minds, yet distract ourselves from actually building connections with one another.  Your community can be a safe space to share your ideas and help nurture the ideas of others.  This sound collage is very special to me and I love to return to it and listen to the collective sound that is captured.  I find it very comforting and relaxing.  Thank you for letting me share this with you.
