Josh Royse, Mikey Tucker and Taylor Hatty have spent several years honing their craft in the Las Vegas bars, casinos and festivals between Downtown and that infamous global vein known as ‘The Strip’. Surrounded by a vast ocean of musicians who succumbed to the allure of the city and surrendered their global dreams to the promise of heavy coffers built on unoriginal material, they decided that trading their creative passions to stack their tip bucket fortunes did not align with their mission. They kicked that bucket in pursuit of the great local music cultivated by the scenes of Downtown Las Vegas’ snarky street art and venues full of sharp audiences who thrive in the vortex of abundant creation.

The trio of sonically adventurous cosmic heretics, drenched in eclectic energies built with strange money bathed in neon lights, continued circumnavigating the wild eyed dreamers with diamond studded shoes pressed to the floors of their exotic whips, dodged the quick witted strippers with powdered noses and designer purses, tossed riddles through cocktail conversations of international consequence, and waded through the whales of the world who drop small fortunes just to feel the sweat again. In this Las Vegas chaos, they crystallized their creative triangle as a global bound pirate ship with a simple mission: to shine a light on the kings and their kingdoms – to expose the giants with the light of the Sun; so they called themselves NakedElephant and began bridging the gap from pauper to paper, from kingdom to the coming, singing hallelujah as their curious and open minded listeners bathed in the enlightening lyrical labyrinth and sonic masquerade of their Rock band.

The experiment started as a personal sonic ritual between these two musicians of Las Vegas’ Rock N’ Roll band NakedElephant. Soon, it evolved into a project with a new name and sound: Ancient Agents.

Ancient is deeply influenced by the musical journeys at festivals Lightning in a Bottle and Further Future as well as by the profoundly fearless creativity of the Burning Man community. In their spare time they began to produce tracks together that emulated their playa covered memories; and as their memories turned into sounds and Taylor’s talent shaped those sounds into tracks, Josh began to enter trance-like states, free styling lyrics and melodies that defined their unique style together.

This isn’t just music. This is their way of living. And they are excited to share the way of the Ancient Agents with those who listen.

I’m a New Mexico born, Mexico missionary-family raised, US Army National Guard veteran, Full Sail Music Production grad. I'm a songwriter, performing artist, and developing music producer. I’m a mountain lover, an ultra runner, an aspiring plant-based consumer, and an aspiring environment caretaker. The path was winding and narrow, shadowed by the large peaks of the Organ Mountains in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The four mile hike was seamless and wandering when all of the sudden something bright orange caught the corner of our eyes. It was a mess of feathers, tangled amongst the bushes. Carefully extracting these delicate treasures from the grips of nature, we set out to find more alike but came up empty handed. What bird had left these vibrant feathers? The sun had fallen quickly so we headed back to the truck and put the mystery aside for a couple of days.
Back in Las Vegas, Nevada, Matt and I (Miles) were volleying band names back and forth when Matt said, "Hey, why not The Orange Feathers?" The idea was solidified when we discovered two things: 1) The feathers belonged to a unique migratory woodpecker from Canada (how cool is that) and....
2) An orange feather resembles optimism, ambition, creativity, and independence. (Even cooler) 

The Orange Feathers was born on a cold November day in 2016. Veering from the normal band setup, the only instruments used are two guitars, two vocals, a kick drum, and a hi-hat. From the pristine harmonies to the thundering kick driven choruses, The Orange Feathers sound takes you from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs. The lyrics are honest, clever, and full of deeper meaning. Combine this with the intricate yet memorable lead lines and you have yourself a dynamic emotional rollercoaster you won't want to miss!
