Recorded live at Park On Fremont in Downtown Las Vegas for Subtle Sol's Garden Party on May 23, 2021. 
Subtle Sol is a Downtempo, Midtempo, Deep House, & Electronica weekly event talking place every Sunday evening at 6pm. Located in the heart of Downtown on the corner of Fremont St. & Las Vegas Blvd is the garden oasis that will quickly transport you from the Vegas bustle into a a lush, intimate environment filled with temperate house music and friendly faces.

We shared this night with our good friend ITAI ! Always a pleasure to have him out especially for this special occasion.

Fun fact* Subtle Sol has hosted ITAI 4 times at 4 different venues ;) Thought that was kinda cool.

Pseudosimian and I had so much fun during this final set of 2022 with live sax by Sojourner and vocal by Trice Be. The live element always adds such a robust flavor to the environment which is hard to recreate when listening back. But i loved this night so much and the energy leading up to the end of the year that I couldn't not post it :) The set starts with a half hour of myself then the next by Pseudosimian, from there it's a quadfectca of family love! 

To finish out the night we had my friend Adrian aka Magician On Duty as our special guest to close out the evening <3 Much love to MOD for coming a day early out toVegas to groove with us! This was his 3rd Subtle Sol performance, and certainly not his last ;)

Subtle Sol 12.30.21 - J.Handel & Pseudosimian w/ Sojourner (Sax) + Trice Be (Vocals)

Like many friends, I'm missing Matthew Parkey from the physical world today.  

The soul of the desert, Matthew was always friendly and inclusive.  Always.  At a time when I felt I was told to be playing this way or that in the desert, he allowed me to be free.  At a time when I was not feeling included, he made me feel home.

His events, to me, were the first notable series of desert events outside of fmg.  They were not perfectly organized by any means but they were definitely organized with love by one of the most loving people I knew, and I think that's what stuck with most of us.  He was definitely a visionary, and in more recent years he spent much of his time making music.  

I always deal with pain and loss with music, so this evening I will release my set from one of Matthew's events, Beora, in Oct 2014.  I think it's my favorite set I played for him.

This set is a nighttime set despite the picture, one of the few sets I started with an ambient track but it's definitely techno from 2 minutes in

Rest in power Matthew Parkey, I wlll be looking for your light when I gaze up at the Moon and Stars <3

This is a live recording of a set I played in the forest for Tropical's  Bring Love Back to Oregon Summer Campout in June 2022.

I was filling in on late notice for a DJ who was unable to make it, so this set is 100% on the fly. 

Wiggles were in order, as the lineup was all dance music - I had a lot of fun bringing my version of wiggles to this set.

Sounds of the Dusty Rhino, Episode 22: Mystr Hatchet's sunrise set on the Dusty Rhino during the Embrace Burn at Burning Man 2014.

Mystr Hatchet: "When I discovered that my favorite art piece on the playa this year was scheduled to burn on Friday during my sunrise set on the Dusty Rhino, I knew a powerful sound was needed to compliment the beautifully symbolic moment. I was inspired to create a mix that draws on the euphoria you feel during a sleepy sunrise and then transcends into a joyous celebration of the sun and love. To be surrounded by friends and lovers intertwined, mimicking the burning Embrace sculpture as it eclipsed the sunrise, was a transformative experience that was intimately magical. The serendipity of the playa is unmatched and I am so grateful for being part of something so mystically exquisite."

Downtempo House is the genre that I feel most at home DJing and the alignment was certainly felt during this live recording for my friends YouTube project "HouseGuest Radio."

Moontribe Full Moon Gathering, May 2012. Aka Super Moon, as the moon apppeared 14% larger in the sky. It also happened to be my birthday. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend it.

I closed out the gathering with this long (2.5 hr) set. I had a grip of new & different material to work with, so it's a bit edgier in places than my typical sets, but it's one of my favorite DJ experiences ever.

Mastering done with mastery, as usual, by Brian Saitzyk.
