Les textes d'Eric ont tous ce petit quelque chose de décalé, propice à mettre en relief une belle mélodie, jamais gratuite.

Eric a officié notamment dans le groupe de Rock "O.R.L", au milieu des années 80 et tourné dans toute la France. Puis ses activités musicales ont été reléguées au second plan afin de vivre intensément sa carrière d'infographie et de web-designer. 

Eric est également l'auteur-compositeur de la chanson "les mots qu'on ne peut pas dire" publié sur l'album "Quelques heures avec moi" de son fils Yoann Fréget, vainqueur de The Voice 2013.
